I don't mind the moon. But I don't like the head-chopped-off lady just under the moon, and the tiger (lion? panther? leopard?) in the bottom right is a bit on the fierce side.

On the other hand, once the scarf is tied, all of these elements vanish and we're left with interesting bits of color. Like the armor on Samuraïs, which bothered me a whole lot until I finally got to try one on and realized that in a bias fold, t was all behind my neck!

I'm not actually a fan of Acte III, but the lady would be Titania, queen of the fairies, and spectacularly beautiful. It's hard enough in an actual play to convey that - I've seen it done with her (or everyone) masked to get around it. For a global company all about making women of all nationalities feel beautiful, I would imagine they'd want the wearer to imagine themselves (or their personal beauty ideal) there.

(Which is squicky in its own right because Titania is humiliated through this scene and the play, making it my least favorite subplot and a big part of why I'm not interested in the scarf.)

(ETA - it's been forever since I read/saw the play. Is this the scene where she realizes she's been tricked? That would at least be a less squicky scene.)

I tend to like scarves with more simple, strong graphic effects than the detailed "busy" scarves that are so popular here. I really like quite a few this season, though I'll wait to see them in the store:
  • Cercle in black/white with the red hem looks so sharp tied.
  • Astrologie Nouvelle Tattoo in blue or red... I love Astrologie but very few of the original cws, find AN completely uninteresting, but ANT is just cool. (My brain, it is irrational.)
  • Della Cavalleria Finesse - I have no interest in DC, but something about the curves against the rigid graph, and the delicate coloring of the graph itself, is just amazing.
  • H en Fil - swoon.
  • And I have no CSGMs, but think the Harnais Francais Remix Losange, again in black/white with a red hem, would be super sharp and keep me warm in the winter with less bulk and 1/2 the price of a CSGM.

But if you remember the play, the lion is a total pussycat! (And even sillier in Benjamin Britten's opera - sorry for the nerd alert.) Also just for fun, watch the Beatles putting on the Pyramus and Thisbe skit from the end of the play. I loved it then and still love it!!

It is kind of creepy....
I love the artistry of the design when appreciated flat but once tied, I would need to hide that moon.
I’m not in love with it tied at all.
Conversely, baobab cat is weird flat...silly, perhaps but pretty when tied (except for those eyes inevitably on one’s neck)....
Need to see both IRL
LOL - I feel exactly the opposite. I don't mind a moon face on my shoulder, but I think there is no way to tie that bobcat that doesn't look weird. But I also don't like it flat.

No, alas, it's the scene where the enchantment takes place during their rehearsal, and T falls in love with Bottom-as-ass and has the fairies wait on him.
I like the word squicky!!!

I get tired of the busy, squirrely designs too (just have to have ACTE III because of the subject). I love the ANT also - clean lines and strong graphics are so elegant - you must have adored Robe de Soir from the spring season.

Deep thanks to yodeling and the many others who’ve contributed their intel on the new season!

However, I think I am safe from this season. I like some of the new designs but not enough to buy. I only love one corner of Act III, so that’s a no-go. I was excited to see MP and Sous l’egide de Mars csgms and the cws are nice but not enough to make my heart stop. Everything is just *nice* to me when I wanted to be swept off my feet and catapulted into the stratosphere. I want to covet it so bad I’d be willing to (almost) sell my firstborn. Instead, I’ll be keeping the kidlet, and gladly. [emoji23]

It’s funny, I skipped last year’s AW for the same reason. Maybe I’m just more a SS kind of girl...

I agree with Mindi and others that I absolutely hate the practice of slapping a repetitive overlay on a perfectly nice design, minimizing the colors and calling it a day. It’s seriously lazy and cheap of H in my opinion.

I am totally with you, @Joannadyne ! None of the new designs are for me - possibly possibly that last cw of Acte III - and the remakes with the grids and polka dots are too distracting. Plus the cws don’t really suit me. The only thing that is interesting to me is the twillons, and that’s more for the new shape than the designs. But I’m not out of trouble, there are still plenty from the spring collection that continue to haunt me!

+1
I won't say that I don't like the scarf or that I wouldn't like it until I see it IRL and on. I love everything about it except the moon. The moon is a bit on the freaky side for me and I know I'd have to tie it in a way that it didn't look like "Big creepy face moon" on my neck.
I've read too many horror stories.

Thank you so much for an explanation why the woman's head might be cut off! That was really triggering my OCD to the point that I was no longer interested in the scarf. I thought she was too tall for the scenery, or something. Otherwise, I really like the design - especially LOVE, LOVE the moon (although some disagree with me on that point).
