FW, I, too, do not feel the scene is resonant with me, so I must weigh this in the matter of deciding between the fab design+cw vs. the theme. But the artistry is truly lovely, of course! And I'm glad for each "new" artist for H scarf designs. Looking forward to more from him next season.
This is such an interesting philosophical conversation, isn't it? It's come up in the past, surrounding scarves that depict hunting. Or battles. Or dead animals.
And I suppose it doesn't belong in this thread, though I'm not sure where it DOES belong.

Thank you so much for an explanation why the woman's head might be cut off! That was really triggering my OCD to the point that I was no longer interested in the scarf. I thought she was too tall for the scenery, or something. Otherwise, I really like the design - especially LOVE, LOVE the moon (although some disagree with me on that point).

Perhaps it's a pun on her 'losing her head' over an ass (DH not included - I can identify).

Hello, Elaine! How about sharing our thoughts on the thread on how we curate our scarf and shawl collections? For me, the process of curation starts at shopping time in the boutique. I research the scarf, try it on, and then decide. I might have missed out on some beauties with this very limiting method, but I feel assured that I don't have regrets with the silks that do make it to my scarf drawers. :amuse:

Edit: I see the possible dilemma for an avid theatre-goer and lover of literature as yourself. Surely, this scarf will be lovely to wear at the next Shakespearean performance! Note some enabling going on here... :graucho:

Well, I always thought that perhaps turning a man named Bottom into an ass (the actor who wants to play ALL the parts because he thinks he's so wonderful) was only one letter (r) short of a pun on the strange pull of love towards those often so undeserving.
Shakespeare was so fond of puns and wordplay, I'm sure this was no coincidence.

Well, in honor of Acte III, it's definitely time for me to re-read A Midsummer Night's Dream. And perhaps re-watch my favorite movie version (the one with Helen Mirren as Titania).

News flash, as of this morning, there were EIGHT colors up on the U.S. site! And I see one that's blowing me away even more than #12. CW5 has a whole bunch of (gulp) blues in it. I'm swoooooning! :faint:

For everyone who owns or has seen Acte III color way 12 what color is the hem? This is my one concern about this color way. I know myself and I do not gravitate towards color ways when the hem does not pick up enough of the same color in the design, if you know what I mean. Over the years I have tried and I just know it does not work for me for whatever reason.
Another photo for your consideration. I wanted cw 12 for the purples, and was pleasantly surprised by the contrasting red hem. Same shade as the coral on my pendant. The scarves this season need to be seen IRL preferably. The tones on the H website feel off to me.

In pictures I didn't like the red hem. Also aesthetically I thought it would be stupid. There's no red in the body of the scarf! I was prepared to hate it. But.......the magic of H.......I think it's perfect. You should try to see it IRL. You can return stuff from the website for credit card refund.....Just sayin'.........

So Oberon is a jerk. He's a FAIRY, LOLOLOL.
Anyway, Kevin Kline was a pretty adorable Bottom in the 1999 film:

I like quite a few. cws, I think they did a great job considering it's such a complex scarf, so will revisit, but I had to have the red. Sometimes when the whole design (and in this case story) is really important and it's busy too I'm more drawn to the more tone-on-tone. I also had 'buy real red scarf' on my list so it was great to be able to cross that off my list.

Well, everybody loves the Turandot scarf, but before the opera begins she has chopped off the heads of how many suitors??

Don't forgot the 1935 MND which was OLIVIA DE HAVILAND'S first film (she just turned 102!!).
