Does anyone know a good Authentication Service for Hermes handbags?
I recently bought a Birkin 25, it's fresh from store with receipt date of 11/21/2022, I also shop at this same local store and actually compared the receipt with my own receipts that I had before, all look identical. However, just for extra ease, I ordered real authentication to double check, they gave me result of "counterfeit" which is shocking to me.

I then decided to pay more to ask Bababebi to authenticate the bag, and her opinion is that the bag is authentic. I reached out to Real Authentication again telling them that they made a mistake. Of course they don't admit it and they say they need at least 2 credible authenticators' result to give me refund.

So anyone has other good Hermes authentication service recommendation? Thank you!
How much trust can be put in Bababebi? I saw the Trustpilot score was really low (2) and i’m offered a bag where that seller has a certificate from Bababebi. Don’t know if it’s all legit or if there is another authenticator service that can verify?

I'm not sure what the Trustpilot score means but I feel very confident in saying that bababebi is the gold standard of Hermes authentication, and I think very many tPF H collectors would agree.

How do I contact bababebi? I just received a special order Birkin from a reseller and I’m starting to question it. I think it’s my nerves and because it’s a whole lotta money! I clicked her contact on her website but it just times out.
Her contact us page is down but her email is listed on her website and says to contact it if the contact us page doesn’t work! It’s under services for buyers. I hope you get good news about the bag!!

Unfortunately, most resellers in Singapore do not allow that. They expect full payment first then we authenticate. If the bag is not authentic, they claim they will do a full refund. So far, only one reseller in Singapore helps with authentication after we pay a deposit.
But how do you even do authentication in Singapore, even post purchase? I tried looking up old discussions on this topic, and thought that one authenticator is not 100% trusted locally?

And do the Singapore luxury resellers accept Amex, and will Amex cover a counterfeit? I thought they would generally accept Visa or Mastercard with at least a 2.5% surcharge but have not tried asking for Paypal.

I'm a higher tier Amex holder (but didn't buy Centurion), and there is a low cap on a shipping guarantee that would
not cover a Hermes bag, and customer service did not reply clearly when I asked if fakes would be covered if charged to Amex.

contact bababebi directly and see if she will work with you
Singapore is not a large place and if a seller is not prepared to meet with you
accept that as a Red Flag however attractive the bag might be

it would be best to contact your banks/card providers directly and ask them your questions

you can only gain so much useful information with generalisations

you should be able to assess the market and get your own gut feeling for what is good or bad
so failing that as your interest does not seem to be Birkins or Kellys you will have to be patient and wait for any bags you want to become available at Takashimaya, Liat, Marina Bay, one of the Changhi outlets or Hermes.com.

I just wanted to double check... I understand that Fashionphile is reliable but not 100% reliable.

1) Would you authenticate any bag you bought from Fashionphile, even a less popular and cheaper one, and even one you don't plan to sell? I got a Steve 35 caporal from there.

2) Do you just go with Bababebi, or is there an equally good authenticator in Singapore you should go to in-person if you happen to be in Singapore?

I think the answers are yes and yes, but wanted to ask.

Honestly, if it’s from Fashionphile, I wouldn’t feel the need to have it authenticated again unless there was something specific about the bag causing me doubt.

So I'm trying to understand if this is a minority view. For example, if you resold with the physical tag and the receipt from Fashionphile instead of a Bababebi certificate, how much would that affect your resale?

Your posts seem contradictory to me. You said you don't plan to sell so I'm not sure why you would ask this question. If you want to sell but don't want to pay for bbbb then just list it and see what you get. If no one will buy it without bbbb paperwork, then have it bbbb authenticated. It's like a $100 cost on a several thousand dollar bag.
