No one buys a B25 and flips it the next day for a premium because they don't like small bags. They do it for money.

If there is a moral to this story, it's that the only bag you can trust is the one you take home from the boutique yourself. Authenticators disagree, Hermès has made its own mistakes, and resellers most definitely make mistakes.

At this point I even worry a bit about someone returning a fake to H, it gets re-shrinkwrapped, and goes home with an unsuspecting buyer.
H always takes off the shrink wrap off the box when showing the bag to me. That is a HUGE red flag if anybody is trying to sell any bag with a box with shrink wrap intact.

I have to say, if OP thinks their SA would be ok with their resale purchase, I might be tempted to ask them about the bag.... given that the bag was bought on MONDAY. Unless it's a large store, a B25 sale that recently would be remembered by someone.

I believe the bag (if fake) can only be seized if given in for after-sales care....

Kind of wild!
H in the US does not seize/confiscate any fake bags. Lucky for the owner of any replica!

That’s not what I mean.

If you are shown a bag and do not accept it, it is likely the store will shrinkwrap it again for the next offer. It is also likely that happens to returns, at least if pristine.

Obviously a reseller offering a shrinkwrapped box would be impossible - they couldn’t even photograph the bag.

There are many stories here that disagree with this. Since I’ve never taken a fake into spa (or anywhere LOL) can’t speak from experience. But stating absolutes is dicey with Hermès.

Ah, I misunderstood. I know BH does not re-shrink wrap their boxes once the wrap is removed.

The bag was not confiscated because it had not been handed in to Hermes for spa.

I recommend never taking a bag or any other item to H on the pretext of spa or repair, really wanting authentication - anywhere in the world. For one thing, most SAs don't know much about H, they sell the products not make them.

For legal disputes, only paid-for authentication from respected third-party businesses whose job is is usually count anyway.

No SA will authenticate the bag there and then, if the bag is taken in for spa and/or repair and require a visit to France, customers sign a declaration stating if the item is found to be counterfeit, Hermes has the right to confiscate and destroy.

In France, where it's illegal to carry counterfeits, even if one doesn't sign a declaration, although Hermes can't take it off you, the police can.

Also, some scammers use real same-spec spa receipts for counterfeit bags, thinking the buyer will think it's as good as authentication. A bag is a bag and a receipt is a receipt.

In the past this was accurate but currently H doesn’t do this. Worst is the client gets an affidavit along with their replica.

I bought an Hermès Picotin 18 from Vestiaire, paid for authentication and the bag is claimed as authentic.

Once I’ve received the bag, the dustbag seems to be off and I decided to send to bababebi and the result came that the bag is counterfeit!

Now I’m in contact again with Vestiare and they agree to do second authentication. But if they found the bag to be real after the second check, they told me that I will need to relist the bag & pay the fee to them as well.

So frustrated. Anybody has the same experience here? Or can recommend me any other Hermès authenticator?

I would file a dispute with PayPal.
