Hermes 2018 Paris summer sale

Tour groups?!?! Heaven help us all!! I find the resellers to be horrendous at the sale - rude, pushing and shoving, traveling/working in packs, brazenly defying anything security asks them to do. And the line just gets longer and longer! I hope they don't push things to a point where H just washes their hands of the whole thing and cancels the sale.

Last summer there was a sale in SF and it was nothing like the chaos in Paris or NYC. The line was orderly, inside were lines for each "section" - jewelry seemed the most organized as one had to get an SA to help in order to get merchandise. Scarves were more of a scrum, as I think about it.

I enjoy meeting my group of friends in Paris for the sale, and of course love visiting Paris. But for the last couple of sales I have wondered if I am just too old and cranky to cope!!

Hope your ankle is okay for you to continue your trip without too much discomfort!

The problem also comes from the society they hired for security. People say that the previous society H worked with was much more professional and effective. The current security staff is very very very incompetent. So now the sales have just become a huge playground for those rude and odious resellers! And we honest customers have to deal with it and suffer in silence. [emoji29]

Just came back from the sales today.

Thought it was civilised, and not too hectic (last year I went on the first day, never that again).
Took one shawl, one 90 scarf, two 140 silk scarves.

I saw people before me grab all the mousselines available, so unfortunately, there was nothing left when it was my turn.

Still, I am quite happy.

Went to sale today and there were no line ups around 3pm. Everything looked picked over but found 2 cashmeres I love and a 70 cm. It was great since it only too me an hour in total and was a relaxing atmosphere.

please post what you got! such a shame you didn’t end up going to the Toronto sale.

i don’t know why the Paris sale doesn’t adopt what Toronto did in order to get rid of line jumpers. i didn’t line up in the morning at Toronto but heard from friends and on this forum that it was very organized and none of this trampling or rushing business.

I'll post a pic once I am back home this week. The selection of cashmeres was minimal by the time I got to the sale but I picked up 2 within a minute that suited the colours I was after.
Agree, no reason for a sale to get violent! Paris sale should be best organized given it happens every 2 months. I brought my 4 month old to sale (to give DH an hour on his own) and no way I was going in unless it was civilized and not crowded.

Every 2 months? Please tell us more!
