I bought a few pairs of shoes, a couple of belt buckles and belt leather, a scarf, and a tie for DH. [emoji5]

Glad you found some good stuff. Sorry to hear about your ankle, hope you feel better! I have gone to 6 Paris sales, including this past Jan. It seems to be getting worse and worse...

Enjoy the rest of your stay!!

Oh no! How is your ankle feeling now?

Thanks for asking. [emoji177] I took painkillers throughout the day. I can't wait to return home to see my physio and massage therapist. [emoji51]

I’m glad I decided not to go. Hope your sprained ankle feels better jaz_o.

Thanks! [emoji177]

Good grief. You are dedicated!

This is terrible. I only have experience with the NYC sale. Even on the VIP day, there was bad behavior by people using one line sitter for 10 people, or one person having 6 or so friends join them in line. I gave up going early after i got pushed back so far by these shenanigans that I didn't make it in with the first group. These same people coordinate their purchasing efforts, run to various places and grab everything off the shelf, e.g., all the cashmere shawls. They then meet in a corner and divide up the stuff, and make calls to people not at the sale for their wish list. It is very discouraging. For those who want silks or ties and are willing to wait, I guess you can get a good price, but everything else is hit or miss depending on the year.

Oh my, that's awful behaviour from VIPs! They're adults and they're supposed to be mature. [emoji849]. I'm surprised the resellers in NYC are VIPs. I naively thought rellers were primarily VIPs in Europe.

Thank you for your kind words! Despite the chaos today, I'm thinking of checking out the winter sale in a few years. [emoji51] There were many tour groups at the sale today. I'm concerned that there will be more in the future. [emoji31]

I chatting with a Parisian when I was lining up and she has gone to most of the designer sales in Paris. Apparently, Fendi has one of the most organized sales.

I am planning a trip to Paris for January. Did they happen to post the dates? Thank you.

Tour groups?? Incredible. And definitely not a good news I'm afraid.
I hope you will recover soon and fully enjoy your purchases.

How was the stock for cashmere shawls? I was thinking of going late tomorrow - assume it has no line ups.

Tour groups?!?! Heaven help us all!! I find the resellers to be horrendous at the sale - rude, pushing and shoving, traveling/working in packs, brazenly defying anything security asks them to do. And the line just gets longer and longer! I hope they don't push things to a point where H just washes their hands of the whole thing and cancels the sale.

Last summer there was a sale in SF and it was nothing like the chaos in Paris or NYC. The line was orderly, inside were lines for each "section" - jewelry seemed the most organized as one had to get an SA to help in order to get merchandise. Scarves were more of a scrum, as I think about it.

I enjoy meeting my group of friends in Paris for the sale, and of course love visiting Paris. But for the last couple of sales I have wondered if I am just too old and cranky to cope!!

Hope your ankle is okay for you to continue your trip without too much discomfort!

I am on my way. I will be there at 8am. But reading all your stories (so sorry for your ankle people can be so rude at this event) shows that every time it is getting worse. Hermès tried to organise the sale in different ways but it was a fail. Every time resalers, rude people cutting the line. The first time I went to the sale was 5 or 6 years ago and it seems so peaceful comparing to the atmosphere this past 2 sales

Well good luck to everyone going in this battle! Hope you will find your HG!

The security company Hermes hired was very incompetent. [emoji17] Hermes should ask them to improve their ways of handling issues, or hire another company. I also don't think they'll cancel their sales, because resellers help them get rid of their inventory.

I wish I was at the SF sale last year. I missed it by a few weeks due to my conference.

Paris is always lovely. [emoji5] I think if you mentally prepare for the worst at the sale, it won't seem like a nightmare. [emoji23]
