Henri Bendel Bags Anyone?

Does anyone know if the $100 off $200 splurge cards can be combined when that sale starts? Like if I make a $600 purchase can I use 2 splurge cards on one order?
@Harley77 I am new to Bendel purchasing, but I would call up one of their stores and ask them that very good question. The answer may be something simple like "the HB computer system can only process one splurge card code per purchase." I just got my second splurge card, so I am in the same boat as you, should I decide to make a larger purchase.

I just wrapped a long tenure with LBrands (though not in either of the divisions mentioned) and I can say that the message over the last couple years has really been about making VS profitable again and they’re distorting massive amounts of resources and energy there and often it’s coming from the other brands. Sad to see Bendel go. I never really bought anything, despite having access to a hefty discount but always admired my coworkers pieces and they seemed to hold up well.

This saddens me so much. LV is not profitable because they dug themselves into the ground with fast fashion behavior. People typically only shop during their semi-annual sales, and their quality went so downhill that now a pair of Hanes undies from Target will outlast any pair VS cotton undies. They also just won't grow with the times. Women don't always want to wear lace and thongs and push up bras, damnit. I looked at Gap undies the other day and the high waisted briefs in cotton were completely sold out across the board in every color. I mean, Aerie is killing it in profits. I feel like VS would have to make a complete and total overhaul of their image, their business, everything to get back to what it needs... and I'm not sure they can really save their "image" if you know what I mean - HB would need so much less to bring it back from the brink. They've got a company with a great history and they don't acknowledge it at all. I hate seeing people kill things and then blame everyone but themselves. Poor business. Gah.

*end rant*

I'm going to be so sad to lose HB. I know this sounds silly but I have some of their random accessories that have just handled so much and are the best quality. (like an umbrella that's taken five million beatings but is just pristine.)

Having only just discovered the HB brand, I am going to miss it terribly. i love the 712 black convertible shoulder bag as it is like a modern take on the Chanel classic flap handbag, but for me it is much more wearable on a day to day basis. It costs 7.1% of what a classic flap Chanel costs, so I have no concerns about wearing the HB bag often, and during the day for errands. So far, this bag is wearing like iron. What other handbag line can give you that exclusive, high end, quilted leather look and that durability/wearability for that far more reasonable price of $398 full price retail vs $5,600? Anyway, I will be purchasing a few more bags as HB is running sales. I will have a wonderful lifetime wardrobe of Bendel bags, and I will feel happiness and sadness when wearing them. The HB Miss Bendel Domed Satchel channels an Hermes Bolide vibe, while the Bowery Messenger bag channels an Hermes Evelyne Sellier bag. Why not indulge in these wonderful bags that are made well and make you feel great wearing them? I think L Brands is making a terrible mistake.

Maybe Michael Kors will buy HB and save it from the death of L Brands... he’s buying everything else anyway lol

I love HB. I was just looking at their site again, and they have so many goodies I want now. They do need to pare down their offerings and streamline a bit but they could be a hugely successful business. Look at Longchamp and Furla - I believe earning revenues roughly 10-12x as high. And HB has this huge history they can draw on. I’m definitely going to snap up a couple things before they close - I do love their travel items and bags. But I am hoping someone will buy them out and save them from the brink. L Brands just needs to realize they are riding a dead horse with VS. I can’t even believe some websites are calling their stock a buy right now! (Saying they basically hit bottom and couldn’t get any worse...) lol nope. They are tone deaf men who have no idea why they aren’t slaying the market with their pushups and lace cheekies in extremely limited sizing and ultra sex sex sex message. Give me comfortable well fitting bras any day. (it is seriously not revolutionary to offer a 34E)

VS marketing died a long time ago. With decades of this tone deaf BS and no sign of stopping... I don't see how they can compete

to save that dead thing?

*praying someone saves Henri from Lbrands*

give me those iconic centennial striped hat boxes over the ill-fitting bras any day!

btw, I wonder if when they close will we be able to buy the display boxes? lol. I always wanted them.

Hmmm...so I guess my splurge card is kinda pointless. The bag I want is cheaper using the 30% code vs the $100 splurge card and they can not be combined.
What you say is true. I used two splurge code cards today for smaller items I wanted (and one could argue, I needed), for a lipstick case, cosmetic case, makeup brush case, travel cases for cosmetics, etc., just going over the $200.00 mark for the two separate orders, so I could get the items with the $100 discount, twice, which amounted to nearly a 50% discount. For the higher priced items, it definitely makes more sense to go for the up to 30% discount, as you discovered.

Did you go for the petrol Belmont tote? It is so pretty in person!

Haven't ordered yet but will later today once I make my final decision. I'm definitely getting the Belmont tote in petrol. Will probably get a small mix of jewelry and slgs to get to $200 so I can use my splurge card. At least it looks like the 10% pairs with the card.

What did you decide to get? I am still thinking about using my final splurge card on two signature necklaces, or one necklace and one iconic bracelet. Mind you, I typically wear Balinese silver, designer silver, or gemstone jewelry, so this will be a large departure for me. I just kind of like the idea of preserving the memory of a successful and important fashion name that is about to disappear.

I ended up ordering the petrol tote with the 30%. Then used my splurge card on the galactic petrol travel jewelry box, oil slick Louis bracelet, and Natsha bag charm. The Natasha charm isn't really my style but she just looked so adorable carrying her HB shopping bags lol.
I used to be the same way with jewelry until a few years ago. I walked past a Swarovski store and fell in love with a bunch of their sparkly bracelets and had to have them. I now mix bracelets and sometimes a necklace with my finer jewelry.
There are a few other things I'm eyeing but might wait and see what better sales pop up before closing.

I am also planning to see what else goes on sale at a deeper discount closer to closing. That petrol tote! Enjoy it and be fabulous! I am still trying to resist it. That Natasha charm is adorable and I like it, also. I am eyeing those 40" long Socialite charm necklaces in silver and in gold. I would love, love, love to have a medium sized bag in petrol. I am not typically a tote person, although for that stunner I could probably change my ways. That is the only thing holding me back at present. (Guess I'll just have to make do with four of the 712 convertible shoulder bags - eclipse, black, true red and iridescent opal! I just love them! I am currently wearing the black version.)
