@BigAkoya and @etoile de mer , thank you so much. The sapphire is 6 ct ... my finger is pretty small, size 4.5 so it may look bigger. The side stones are oval rose cuts... not everyone’s favorite cut but I love the vintage vibe they give off. I have a Tiffany cobblestone eternity band that I wear on my right hand and the rings really complement each other. Thanks so much for sharing my excitement! Lately I’m way more excited about jewelry vs handbags. The blasphemy!!

Absolutely beautiful! :hbeat: I love milgrain edging and bead set diamonds, my favorite combo. And, the mix of diamond cuts is so lovely, I'm a fan of that, too. Plus the color of the sapphire :hbeat:, I'm so fond of this shade of blue. So happy you found such a gorgeous ring!

@Rockerchic Congrats!!! She’s beautiful! I bet she makes your heart sing when you are wearing her.

Jewelry is definitely addictive and I’m looking forward to see what other beauties you will get. Just listing some possibilities... emeralds, rubies, spinels, other colors of sapphires, tourmalines (Paraiba, indicolite and rubellite), jadeite, garnets (tsavorite, spessartite, mint)...

What a lovely ring!!! Gorgeous on you! Recently I've been intrigued by Sapphire, rings in particular, then found this thread. Also saw that some of you has some tie to Boston! Backbay resident here! Lovely to meet you all! Do you guys happen to know any good jewelers in Boston?

Hello jellyfred ! I miss the Back Bay this time of year, spring is always so beautiful along Commonwealth Ave and in The Public Garden! I wish I could suggest a jeweler there, but have been gone from the area for a while. Best wishes in your search for a jeweler and a sapphire!

@Icyjade I forgot to mention this is Ceylon and it is heated. I would have loved unheated just to think about it being completely natural but it wasn't meant to be.

Hey, just realized that I missed responding to this. It’s perfectly fine so long as you are ok with it! I am just irrational for sapphires and rubies but fine with heat and some treatment for others (minor oiling for emeralds, heat for aquamarine, etc). Totally illogical but I just go with whatever I’m happy with.

Next up will be Emerald!
Hello! Took pic of various green gems along with green jadeite. Never thought I would like green so much lol.

Top row L to R: emerald, jadeite, tsavorite
Bottom L to R: tsav, tsav, jadeite

Taken around the house, near window and in shaded light.

Emeralds can be fragile so putting up tsavorites as a possibility. Have you thought about what country of origin, clarity and treatment (no oil, minor) you would prefer for your emerald?

I have a secret...I also just bought a tsavorite ring. Garnet is my birthstone but I am not a fan of red and I didn't even know there were green garnets until recently. This is definitely not as showy as the sapphire but the stone is so gorgeous.

Yay, more pics when you get it pls. Garnets come in so many colors! Yellow Mali garnets, mint merelani, reds, purples, even blue color change ones. You are lucky to have garnets as your birthstone!

My DD birthstone is garnet too which got me started on tsavorites and other garnets...
