Hi Heather,
Try something called "J.B. Weld". It's a two-part glue that "welds" metals together. I think that's going to be your best bet strength-wise.

Try 5 min epoxy glue. It comes in a dual chamber container that you have to mix together and then use. I used it to glue a part on my Kale peacock palmer and it worked perfectly. Just make sure to use a small applicator (I used the tip of one of my dog's insulin needles) and protect the leather by wrapping in cloth so the glue can't get on it. Good luck.
