but FYI the price difference (compare if u buy birkin from europe) is about US$2000...just few days ago they carry a royal blue birkin size 35 gold buckle, a couple of kellys in different sizes, too bad my hubby only let me buy hermes only if i'm in europe....in asia it's easier (and the SA is so much nicer) but too bad it's much more expensive!

then how come it's 2000 USD Indonesia ??????

:confused1: :confused1: :confused1: :confused1: :confused1: :confused1:
Mira, she's saying that it's USD2000 more expensive than Europe if you buy in Asia (Bali for that matter).

Mira, a Birkin in Indonesia will cost roughly 7000 EURO. It is MORE EXPENSIVE.
Europe, Paris to be specific, is the cheapest place to buy Birkins.
There are no Birkins from Hermes to be had for USD 2000. Nowhere.

They have Hermes store in Bali airport. I heard some people say no one really buy birkin in that store even if the birkin just sit there on display :smile1: so thats why it is easier to get it from there.

and FYI, birkin in indonesia about same price as in USA.

hei hei, some of you are actually abit confused, i just got a black birkin size 30 from Paris (somehow my in laws were able to get it for me) for about 4300 euro, but at the hermes store in bali the price starts around US$ 8335, so i was saying the PRICE DIFFERENCE is about US$2000, and again the Hermes store is NOT at the airport but at PLAZA BALI DUTY FREE SHOP (on by ngurah rai)! hope my info helps;)

ive read in a thread the other day about a distaste of tacky marketing tactic of H by spending $16k first before the SA will show you the birkin:rolleyes: I guess, it may be true but I personally find it funny thou.

I've heard that tale but I have no way found that to be the case...I've wondered if the person mentioned above just displayed such a craptastic attitude that the SA just told her whatever to get away from her. But on the other hand, I've run across crappy SA's before at Hermes, at Chanel, at Louis Vuitton. That's just life. and no one is perfect.

It is true that many of the boutiques prefer to sell bags to their local, loyal customers and will not sell over the phone. This makes sense as they like to reward their loyal customers, the customers that appreciate the brand the 1st chance. They also DO NOT want their bags in the hands of resellers. I can 100% say that I did not have to spend thousands...even hundreds before I was offered a Birkin.

Hi Japster:smile1:

I am so happy for you...offered a birkin without spending hundreds or thousands $$$. You were in the right place at the right time...luck may have played a part.

Thank you for your encouraging insights.

^ I don't think that it was necessarily luck. I believe that in the right boutique, if you display a serious interest in the brand as such and not only in Birkins, it's not difficult being offered one.
