I do agree that SAs should be professional and they shouldn't "yell", but you also have to understand that you would not be in the best of moods either if you had numerous calls and walk-in customers asking for a Birkin every single day. Get to know an SA, better yet get to know the staff and show them your loyal to the brand. The quality of Hermes, in my opinion, sets them apart from any other brand and this quality begets loyalty.

One point...the stores try not to sell to resellers....only to loyal customers. I think, if you ask for a birkin too soon, they suspect that you will turn around and sell it. At least, that is what I've been told. The boutique here gets calls all day long, for birkins and now lindy bags.

Mira, it is worth the wait! I ordered a vermillon chevre Kelly in June of 2005 (I actually ordered a rouge H Kelly during the February 2005 podium but that order was not accepted) and I just received it this week. So, it can take two years, even for a non-exotic bag. It was definitely worth the wait for me!

Mira,i purchased kelly bag 2 years ago from the hermes store in paris, the SA only showed me the kelly after she thought i was about to buy the plume bag.( i ended up buying both items)
i think it's just their politics! you need to buy hermes items (scarf, wallet, shirt etc) first then the SA might be nice enough to show you the birkin or kelly! but i heard from my mother-in-law, it's easier to find birkin if you go to small cities in europe rather than try to find it in paris or milan, good luck!

Ive visited H 3x...first 2, i bought some items (a scarf:tup:) and specifically asked the SA to put me in their system. In my 3rd visit....bought my 1st H bag (just a massai pm) and asked the SA if i am in the system-he said no but he will definitely put me in the system now. whats the thing in having your name in their system? - its part of the politics, establish your relationship and hopefully be offered a birkin:por asked to put an SO?

ive read in a thread the other day about a distaste of tacky marketing tactic of H by spending $16k first before the SA will show you the birkin:rolleyes: I guess, it may be true but I personally find it funny thou;) H hits popularity poll to the sky with the birkin.

They call it learning to appreciate the brand first (others refer as suckin up) or it may be a tactic of pushing other items not just birkin:graucho:and get you H addict:p Unless if you are just plain lucky and offered a birkin on the spot.

Ergo, I completely agree...go to H store in smaller cities or here in the US....go to H Alaska:p

Mira, I didn't have a good experience when I first visit one of our H stores here. But it didn't fend me off from wanting to purchase something from them. I got a scarf and subsequently a Kelly from another store. I've learnt that as long as you're patience and you show that you love Hermes in general (not just birkins), I'm sure you'll get into the list/bag you want eventually.

mira, u can try hermes store in florence, u can actually buy the bag on display! (unlike paris who had many birkins displayed but untouchable!) or maybe u wanna try Bali, Indonesia?:smile1: my sis told me somehow that store has 2 or 3 birkins or kellys , but FYI the price difference (compare if u buy birkin from europe) is about US$2000...just few days ago they carry a royal blue birkin size 35 gold buckle, a couple of kellys in different sizes, too bad my hubby only let me buy hermes only if i'm in europe....in asia it's easier (and the SA is so much nicer) but too bad it's much more expensive!
