ooh, I am so sorry. I hope they burn in hell for that!!!!!
I really understand, I was just sick when I saw the website.

Off Topic---- LOVE LOVE LOVE your DH!!!!

CB- My coworker even found a pic of my new bi-color SO. I nearly cried cause DH was the one who designed it and placed the order.:crybaby:

princess, I understand how you feel. But isn't sharing your H stories and acquisition part of the fun and bonding with all of us here? HUG. I hope this won't stop you from posting more photos of your collection. BUT, do water mark them. Like right in the middle, so the scammers cannot even doctor the pictures at all.

All of us need to be united.

that's terrible what they did! I would feel so violated too if my pictures were stolen for illegal use like that.

I am going to really start thinking watermarking all the pics I post on the internet. Now I just have to learn how to do it.

I have got an idea! Can we come up with a standard in our watermark? For example

"Mrssparkles @ tPF"
"if you see this photo on any other site, it's stolen"

OK, it's too verbose. Maybe someone can come up with something short and sweet please!

It would be very sad to have tPF without pictures. :crybaby:

LOVE that idea!! Actually, I saw some pics today that were watermarked saying "DO NOT COPY". If there was a phrase everyone agreed on, that would be great.

I really think putting a watermark in the middle of your picture is just fine!! Don't post photos of yourself if you are not comfortable, but if you watermark your bag and put a phrase like above, people will realize it is stolen property!

Love it MrsS!

here are some examples of what I have been doing on pics of items that I think are candidates to be stolen ever since my shoe pics were hijacked

How about this? On every picture we post of our Hermes items we watermark it with "LOUIS VUITTON" or "CHANEL" right across the center of the picture!!! LMAO!!!! I'll bet none of THOSE pics get stolen........

OH MY GOD! :wtf: These people are seriously whacko! I'm gonna go check to see if all my pictures are watermarked. It's a shame people do this. They are making it sound like we buy fakes from them. Anyone who clearly sees that website will know they are up to no good.

How's this,.. too much??

I think there is a fine line between watermarking pictures to get a point across (and to prevent scammers from abusing them) and making the objects depicted on the image almost invisible.

I think the way bagg did it is pretty neat, but not everyone knows how to work with decreased opacity. In BlkLadyLaw's case, the actual bags/shoes are hardly visible - but it certainly gets a point across.

I am going to spend some time this coming week to investigate the possibility to overlay attached images with a "stamp", a small graphic that can be pasted in the middle (not the corners, those can be cropped off easily) of an image to protect it.

Image theft is a pain in the ass, but I don't think that the experience of viewing a beautiful bag should be hindered by massive watermarking.

Let's draw a parallel to the ink security tags that many stores have on their clothes. When you try on the shirt, the tag doesn't get in the way, but when you try to steal the shirt and forcefully remove the tag, it spills red paint all over and ruins it. A water mark should do the same thing.

^ That doesn't look bad, Baggs. It doesn't overwhelm the photo. I think as long as the "So and so's photo on tPF, seen anywhere else is stolen" saying is somewhat transparent/watermarked on the photo, it won't be too much.

For example - Velvet font, white text, opacity adjusted to 15%. You can still see the photo.
