Sus - Let us know what happened at the store. I am very bad at making h purchase decision. However, in your case, you can't really go wrong with VL or box when is black with g h/w. Good luck. Your colourful accessories will look fab with any black kelly.

I say yes if it is in the size that you want. Black with gold is gorgeous and best of all it is in VL, handles a bit of rain better than box.

yes, you will know when you see/try the kelly IRL. if you LOVE it and can't leave without it, GO FOR IT. if you LIKE it and have to think it through, that's hesitation. well, that's how my mind works. maybe different for you.

I was offered a 32 black VL rigid with PH earlier but I passed, as I wanted GH.

Sus, these are two very different leathers....I prefer the box calf, and many of us like box, but it has it's drawbacks too, one, being the weather factor your mentioned.

On the other hand, VL is very hardy ( weather wise ) and beautiful, but, to me, very stiff and dry. Of the two, I prefer the box for it's elegance, history and the way it feels to my hand.

Definitely go and take a look Sus. I hope it's in Sellier form because I especially love VL when it is in Sellier form and I think the leather will suit you better in the long run if you need a skin that will handle rainy weather.

YUP! Can't agree more. I also love the shine on VL.
