Help choosing 1 of 2 engagement rings

I didn't realize you were keeping the other as is (maybe a solitaire necklace?) but in that case, I say definitely go for the princess!
I do think rounds look larger in the same size as princess because some of the weight is lost in the corners. I do think the Princess is becoming a classic however nothing will be as classic as a round. I personally have a round solitaire and always thought I wanted a radiant but I just fell in love with the way the round sparkled on my hand. This is tough decision. Since you already keeping your original round ring, I would say get the princess because it is different.

I did it. I made the decision. I flipped flopped some more but I came home with the Round!!!
In the end, I decided not to decide until I got to the store. At the store, I initially preferred the princess. Reason being that while they are both solitaires, the princess gave me a different and striking design without the use of extra stones (as the square shape is a design itself).
But the true test was having my SP wear them both from a distance (why didn't I do that before) while walking closer to her and judging how I felt. From near and far, I thought the princess was very pretty and unlike the pictures of it, not so angular (real life softens it). But the round (whose shape is definitely more common) was constantly and simply spectacular (so very sparkly).
As for my original smaller solitaire, they will change it into a solitaire necklace for me at another time (no use in having 2 round solitaires).
I would have been ecstatic over either one as a surprise gift, but being given the choice really stumped me. And your opinions for and against either one really helped me hash out every angle.

i voted for the princess ... i LOVE princess cut but i know that here and on pricescope they arent at all popular ... i just stare at my princess for hours ... hee hee.
