I carry very few things in my bag especially since I have a bad back. But it can GST can still feel heavy. So when I know I'm going to be out shopping for a long period of time I tend to hand carry my bag as opposed to carrying it on my shoulder. It's just a preventative measure. Hope this helps. GL
