TPF may earn a commission from merchant affiliate
links, including eBay, Amazon, and others

Hmmmm ... Interesting and a little mysterious. How did you find that, moth?

Bri, if you click on the NOW link, you can deduce a little about it based on the registration form. What little I know is that in general, affiliates promote products -- often they're bloggers who write glowing reviews and post photos, though sometimes it's a lot more subtle than that -- and in exchange they receive a kickback. I have a couple friends who do this with a handful of small makers of photography gear and software. In those cases, the affiliate offers a discount -- "Get 10 percent off with this special code!" The code is then used by the vendor to trace where the buyer read about the item. When a certain dollar volume of purchases using the affiliate's code racks up, the affiliate gets a commission or a free product, whatever, depending on the program terms. My photography friends really believe in and use the products they pimp, but personally, I wouldn't feel comfortable doing it. And I doubt HH would come here looking to recruit affiliates.

which is fine, except.. weren't people told certain things were in stock? and is this info anywhere on the product pages?

The "in stock" items that were so labeled on the pre-takeover website are what they had in the Greenpoint store. Now that there is no store, there is no stock, theoretically. But it's unlikely that they've sold off everything they had there, especially since they weren't offering big discounts at the end.

So sorry about your GC ordeal hokka.

And good luck to the hotties who are waiting.

To echo what NMR said; there were quite a few items available in the last days at the store& I'd bet that's the only stock besides cancellations or returns. I saw more than a few collection Milton's, Biblio's & a couple Havanas. Quite a few Trophy bags & Tro. Satchels . 1-2 Corcovados, Elsons, Kitanas, Nackies(not Corraline tho:-( ), Lorcas...& a decent selection of Pomps/pilots/wallets& cuffs. The Hadley cuff wasn't yet out or I'd've snapped it up. A word of caution though...or 2 words really: SUN FADE! The shop had big glass front windows & any bag that spent over a month(?)in that spot Was DRAMATICALLY faded- the lovely Collection Mulberry lthr was particularly noticeable. Just another potentially nightmarish CS scenario I think HHotties should be made aware of; so sorry!

Anyone get a Hadley in hand yet? The pix on HH site are so atrocious since it seems like they made one sample that was very poorly finished(the holes/sides are all raggedy)& then the photoshopping of colors looks like they slapped latex paint on them or something. Better this way I guess. I have no desire to support new owners crappy "business model" which I've concluded is simply: a. Destroying HH's credibility w/ loyal & VERY forgiving fan base beyond any hope of recovery, b. "cutting their losses" by closing HH down completely & c. then taking TH's beloved designs which they now probably own rights to & offering knockoff versions of them...

I found it when I was googling around looking at HH stuf for sale via other site. FYI google shopping is moving to paid results only soonish so will be even less useful. I found more old stuff I really want to find someday. Like this bag made for anthro:

I think you're right on all of those, and this last one is especially hard to swallow. However, given how things are going, it makes a whole lot of sense.

Eek, I received a mysterious fedex shipping email with tracking number, but it doesn't say who the shipper is--could this be HH creating a shipping order for my nackie?? Fingers crossed.
Any new info on what this coud be? I don't think HH uses FedEx, though...

Oh shoot, I just realized what the fedex notice is probably for--my wedding dress! Sent it to be cleaned/preserved and this is probably the company shipping it back. Weird they don't give you any info with the fedex tracking though.

So the other day I FINALLY got a shipping notification! I checked the tracking and it hadn't really been sent so I thought that was weird. Yesterday I got two emails from HH saying that my CC has insufficient funds, or the billing address doesn't match the address I gave - some reason my CC couldn't be charged. So I emailed them back saying that wasn't possible. Today they emailed me back saying the original email I got from them was a glitch in the system. So now my order will actually finally be shipped!

I JUST GOT A SHIPPING NOTIFICATION! :yahoo: Now let's hope the bag is perfect!

Just replying to ND about the old school plum Lorca... I'd TOTALLY buy the sample newer one that I sold if it popped up again, but I've already got two Lorcas with the older turn locks and I'm really starting to worry about them popping off. I think I'm going to stick to turn-down locks for any others :p Having said that, it looks like it's in beautiful condition!

Jenni, I went to the closed Reveal and Review thread (great index, btw!) to look at your sample plum Lorca. What a beauty :girlsigh: I'd forgotten that it, too, had a tassel. Such an amazing colour -- hard to describe, really.

I hear you on the old school turnlock -- they were very fragile. Here's hoping your baby makes a reappearance!
