sally your outfit sounds so comfy!

I'm so seriously happy it's a long weekend. I'm too sick to go out and play with my MIL and the DH. Ugh I guess my flu shot hadn't kicked in yet. Need to find something on Netflix that is good for tired sick people.

It's a long weekend?!

:hugs: feel better soon, Moth!
And Sally, I totally feel your pain lol. We had a great evening in Ouray despite the weather... Good long soak in the hot springs, then inside to relax before dinner. By the time we headed out the wind had kicked up, so we were walking around in a wind chill of 0 degrees. Had a great beer at the Ourayle House, then an even more frigid walk six blocks to one of the three restaurants open right now, and then a walk back to the motel, where throngs of partiers had set up camp in all the hot tubs. I was so chilled I heated the room up to 75 and took a hot shower. I think I shivered all night.

It's so nice to get away just for a night. Hour and a half, and we're back home in the desert valley :D

:nogood::pout::censor::storm:

We just became a university, right? Like officially?! What is that supposed to mean, exactly?

Quote: "It is far more important that we prepare our students for employment than for graduate school" (after the whole campus figured out that two entire programs--art and chemistry--are not accredited by the major governing organizations in those fields.) So only about 10% of our BFA in art grads that have applied to MFA programs have been accepted. But something like 75% are now employed at printers, t-shirt design companies, and the occasional ad agency. So they've got that going for them.

:drinkup:

Um... Random question. Jeff Goldblum is/was on Law and Order CI ?! Where have I been?
And I think there are either sulfites or nitrates in this wine, I'm suddenly sneezing like crazy. Oh boy.

10% of those WHO APPLIED to grad programs, and the employment is less than stellar. No, not pretty good for a BFA from a regional university, actually. I'm sorry. You're in higher education?

Oh right, and artists have been so in demand in previous, stronger economies! I forgot. That's what universities are for, indeed. Rubber stamping people and preparing them for $8.50 an hour at t-shirt printers.

Actually, I came back to post that I'm not sure a BFA has ever been in high demand. :p

Another reason to find 75% employment pretty good. A lot of people don't want to go to grad school or take a completely different turn in their careers. That makes it hard to know what's really going on.

Ack Jenni - that is unfortunate. Do they have any plans to try and get accreditation?

I am a total cold weather wuss these days. We've finally switched over to our 50-40 degree weather and that has me shopping winter coats. :p

Very cool Sally! I think if I could go back I'd love to do something library science / info management related.

I need to send cupcakes to the DH's office tomorrow for his birthday. I can't decide if I should do big ones of mini and how many to send. The problem with minis is they only sell by the dozen in each flavor. I also can't remember about how big his group is.
