Glad to hear he wasn't seriously injured.

That looks handy! I'm not sure it would work on my car, it has tall seats but not headrests. I like that the ad mentioned laptops. That's my big fear when I have that in a tote. It does *not* need to be traveling about inside the car / crashing on the floor.

Ugh! Glad you lived to tell the tale. I was lucky I slowed to a crawl when I saw the deer prancing down the median, but the SUV in front of me sped on and the deer darted into his lane. I've seen deer bodies at the side of a road post-accident, but I've never seen one just disintegrate before. :wtf:

I thought of this thread while strapping my bag into the shopping cart at the store today. Anyone else do that? Obviously it's not to keep it from falling out, but it is to keep it from being snatched if I get distracted picking things out.

The only brand I think I can say I've given up on is Betsey Johnson. I love the cute designs, but I bought one of her bags (a few years ago, and it was a true leather bag) and the first time I carried it a handle fell off because the screw had come loose. I got basically a "too bad" response and that was enough to make me not want to buy again. I've seen them in Macy's recently but they're not leather and for the price I could get a nice leather Coach bag and responsive customer service as well.

I hadn't strapped mine into the shopping cart before...but I will now! What a great idea to deter purse snatchers! We see a lot of deer here since we live near a military base. You can't hunt on post, so they multiply like crazy!

+1000. Same reasons I just sold my Speedy! Can't live without a shoulder strap or inside pockets!

LOL, funny right now i am carrying a classic Madison Coach satchel, it basically has neither except there is one singular pocket but is unlined to boot, i am surprised how much i am liking it that said, i do get finding a style just isn't working for you..

.

Thank you & no, generally i hold my bags if i do put them in a cart if i step away or turn around i put it back in my arms.

I feel more comfortable buying Coach because of the customer service and return policy. If you buy something at Michael Kors on sale, it isn't returnable or exchangeable.

.

I didn't know that, my MK i bought FP. :shame:

I didn't know it either. I bought my first MK at a FP store on sale. It was pink. The next day, I saw the same bag in turquoise for the same price. I liked the turquoise better and wanted to exchange. That was when I learned it was final sale, no refunds, no exchanges.

I've heard rumbles about it for sale online purchases, again I had no idea it applied to in store ones too. This is good to know and definitely something to keep in mind while purchasing a sale item. ;)

Really sounded like judgment to me. Telling someone who wants to keep their bags nice that their priorities are out of whack is being judgey.
You have no clue about anyone's life or their circumstances.
I take care of my possessions. I like that they remain in nice condition. If that means my priorities are out of whack, well then...I'm guilty.
I'd like to apologize for my comment....I can see how it would come off the wrong way and was certainly not what I intended.

Sometimes it's hard not to offend others with a flip comment. My opinion was directed more towards myself and what I perceive rather than coming from someone else's POV.

While I won't be strapping in my bags I do love the idea of the hook for the car to secure a bag.....simply genius!

Nope I don't do that, but I think that's just because I am so worried about either my bag getting snatched or forgetting to also take my bag when I return the trolley (this has happened with shopping bags) that I always continue carrying my bag even while shopping!

I don't buy any Burberry bags or SLGs. Only clothes. Also, at one point I went "full LV", but then realized that nothing beats a Coach travel bag. So I got rid of my canvas Keepall, and purchased a leather Weekender for 1/3 the price.

I have owned a few Fendis, a Burberry and a Gucci. I got rid of all of them. I only sort of regret one of the Fendis. They were all relatively inexpensive as I bought them used, so I didn't have to deal with the guilt of spending too much. I can never bring myself to take the risk to spend a humungous amount of money on one purse. It just seems like it would create too much pressure to love it and carry it a lot. Even some of my more expensive Coaches make me feel like I'm not getting my money's worth.

There are designer purses I've toyed with buying, including a $4000 LV, a $4000 Dior, a $2000 Chanel, and a $2000 Versace. I've stayed in love with some of them for a long time but can't get myself to drop that much money on one bag. I think it is just my personality. I've always looked for the best deal for my money and I'd rather have a large assortment rather than a few very special items. I get bored if I carry a bag longer than a week at a time. Some of my older Coaches and my recent Henri Bendels are as nice as anything I could get from a premier brand.

We live in an area that just doesn't warrant carrying designer bags. We rarely go anywhere that requires dressing up. I have a panic attack if someone gets near one of my bags with a pen or something accidentally spills. It's one thing having that happen to a purse that cost me a few hundred. I can't imagine how I would deal with it if was a purse that cost thousands.

Your last paragraph really resonated with me. That's one of the huge reasons I'm afraid to buy a premier bag: fear of it getting ruined. It ultimately has to be something that I'm not afraid of carrying out of the house.

I used to be a Marc by Marc Jacobs addict, but I've sold all his bags. It was mainly because they were satchels and I prefer shoulder bags since I prefer to have my hands free; I take the Metro everywhere. I still admire some of his bags but haven't fallen in love with any of his stuff like I used to. Now all I have is Coach, Baggu, and one Alexander Wang bag. I do want at least one premier bag before I have kids, but I'm not sure what I want.... probably a classic LV or Chanel.

Today we ate at a restaurant that has chairs with rounded backs, so no place to hang a purse. There wasn't an extra chair at our table for my purse so I had to hold it in my lap. DH told me to put it on the floor! Another couple came in after we did and the woman pulled a third chair over to her table for her purse.

That's me! I usually forget to bring my Clippa, so when I went to happy hour the other night i had my girlfriend put my bag on the stool next to her.

LOL yeah my purse would get a chain, or be my lap companion too... sorry i don't set them on the floors.. not a germaphobe(sp?) either but i just cannot do that..

I could never put my bag on the floor, Coach or otherwise! Yuck.

Same here...I've held my bag on the top of my feet, on my lap and perched on the edge of my chair with my bag behind me.

The only way I'd put my bag on the floor is with a couple of cloth napkins under it.
