Does anyone know the number of returns with receipt or purchases you are allowed to make within a certain time frame before you are selected to get a letter?

If I am undecided I usually buy both items and make up my mind at home. Just like this weekend I purchased 2 black leather Sophias and 1 chevron Sophia. 1 leather Sophia was for my mom and I couldn't decide between the chevron or the leather for myself so I bought both with the plans of returning one. I have done this online if I can't decide between a couple items and sometimes I have had to send my whole order back due to quality issues.

i honestly dont think anyone does bt i hav the same issue if i see a good deal at the outlet i may buy 2 or 3 bc somone always ends up liking mine and wanting one lol so my purses usually go to mom or younger sister on the off chance they dont lik them i do hav to return bt although i havent gottten a letter yet i thinks its just a bad suprise lol:shrugs:

Something a friend who is not a Coach fan said to me recently. The problem with so many people buying and reselling Coach bags, especially on eBay, is that it devalues the brand, something that Coach and other retailers are constantly struggling to fight against in an uphill battle. The market is flooded with multiples of the same bag. That's why sellers who just want to sell a pre-loved bag to buy a new one can't get close to what they paid for it, even at the outlet price. Granted, there are some exceptions like with limited edition and Legacy bags.

I am confused. Who generates these letters? Is it computerized based on amount of $ spent/returned, etc? Or does the manager at a store generate it. I know many of you have great relationships with SAs and managers so do THEY have the power to generate these letters or suggest who should get them and who shouldn't (totally doubtful, esp since many of us shop in different locations like on line, outlets, closest store or two...).

I haven't received a letter either. I hope I don't it makes you feel like you're doing something wrong. Every time I am in my outlet the SA always says take it home and make up your mind later remember there's no time limit on returns very cheery. So I think well ok I will. I never heard of this letter until I joined this forum now I feel fearful that I can't shop as relaxed as I did before an I don't like feeling that way.

i think they should only make a certain amt of each bag and therefore it stays limited. i see how the flooding is an issue bt again it cant flood if theres not enough rain:p

believe me the feeling is mutual after today my coach experience will never be the same lol

Thats silly if they ban someone for buying the same bag in multiple colours! These should be the kind of customers they want... Don't they make new colours to encourage us to buy the same bag again?!?

omg i'm potentially in trouble then. I ordered three of the Willis bags (different colors) and am contemplating a fourth....hope they don't think I'm a reseller or something, I just like that bag and the pretty colors. :-s

Yes. They DO have the power to turn in the abuser. We might think we "blend in" with the hundreds and thousands of customers a retail outlet sees, but I assure you, most die-hard addicts don't. Customers who are obviously buying for themselves (USUALLY) don't have to be concerned. Customers who don't return something nearly every time they buy don't have to be concerned.

It doesn't take long for store employees to figure out what's going on, and more Coach employees than you would think monitor this forum. It's certainly an impressive collection of information, and 99% of the time a whole lot of fun.

I know that my local boutique KNOWS it has at least 2 "regular customers" who routinely buy bags there, show them off HERE and then return them. I for one think if those ladies get a ban letter - good for Coach.
I wondered about that. Sometimes seems like alot of buying..then later on....saying oh that was returned...now I have this...hmmmmm.

When I buy something, I love it at the time. When I get home, try my things in it with different outfits, it may not be what I was expecting or I simply changed my mind. I live 1 hour away from my outlet and go after I drop the kids off at school. I cannot spend hours in the store deciding and pondering each bag so I grab now and decide later. I do this on average, once a week and I am a stay at home mom. I do not resell and I do not return used items. I simply have changed my mind and return it if I do not use it.

I should be happy with each and every purchase I make and if not, I will return it bc Coach is expensive to be just sitting in my closet. I'm the one spending the money & I should be satisfied.

I never return anything anymore for fear of getting "the letter" and hearing the stories here. Now I am trying to be cautious about my purchases. I buy fewer bags site unseen or bags I am indecisive about. If I do decide not to keep a bag anymore I don't return it but sell it. I am not a reseller. But am simply afraid to return bags to the store anymore. Believe me it would much simpler for me to return to the store than deal with eBay hassles. I bought a bag from the outlet that I decided was not for me. And lost the receipt, which almost never happens as I have a special box for my bag receipts. There is no way I am returning that bag without a receipt...the store credit does not bother me because I know I will buy something else....it is the possibility of this dang letter.
