Has anyone debated lately about selling off their whole LV collection?

Maybe this thread is ok here or the general section?

As of late, I have debated selling off my LV pieces. I’ve been sort of turned off to the brand lately. As much as I like looking at them, they don’t feel like “my style”. What if I regret it? The price only keeps going up... but maybe am over LV?

Anyone else feel this way?
Not looking to bash, just thoughts...

How long has it been since you felt this way? That might be an indication if you’re really really over it. I’ve been feeling the same way as you lately and have been turned off by LV in so many ways. My last purchased bag was an escale nf. I will not be selling my bags.to me it’s not worth the hassle and i will lose quite a bit of money. I’ve decided to be happy and use what I have (which is quite a lot), no need to excessively baby them, just use them practically to serve my convenience. But having said that, I wont be purchasing any more new LV bags. I hope you find peace in whatever decision you make. :drinks:

I felt that way about Chanel for a few years but the itch came back eventually. I think it’s a good idea to sell anything not your style though. No point keeping it.
I think that too but then what if I miss it? Sellers regret is hard. So is buyers remorse. Lol I guess it balances. Lol.

I just don’t know. I have pieces and to date I either haven’t used them or I have used them and they have lost their luster.

ohhh my gosh. Can I just say how much I love your question? I have been feeling this way for a few months. I went in a bought a canvas piece. Have not used it yet but it was not as satisfying as the other pieces I bought in the last few months as well. I don’t have many pieces. Only 4. 2 of them never used. One newer and one years older. 2 pieces I used fall and summer. But that’s it. I wanted a speedy forever. But now I might be over it...???? Like for good.... I don’t know if it’s a phase or if I am really just over it. The prices have really turned me off. Never being able to get into a store these days. Customer Service not great. Declining quality. I just wonder if it’s worth it anymore.

Maybe keep the 4 you have now, use them and hold off on any purchases for the foreseeable future. And think for a bit about if you want to sell, and for what purpose. I do agree LV is losing it’s flavor with all the issues you mentioned above.

I agree. It’s not worth it for me anymore. maybe just Try to enjoy the pieces that you have, since they’re already yours.

But if you look at it from that angle (quality issues, price increases, stores closed), which brand IS worth it? As far as I know it is the same for every brand.
@pandorabox Maybe wait a bit and see if you are really over LV? Or just sell a part of your collection?
That’s a good point you made there. If you look at it from monetary angle, nothing is worth it. The cost of production is just a small fraction of the selling price.(eg it takes only a few cents to produce a $40 lipstick). For me, I determine what is worth it to me by the value I attach to it. What value does it hold in my life? Does it add value to my lifestyle? Does it make things easier for me? Does it contribute to my health? Will I be a better person with it? Etc. attaching a value to everything in life and you will slowly see which things are worth it or not.

Wow how I echo these sentiments and what you and @pandorabox wrote. I had just posted yesterday or today about a damaged keychain item and bad customer care and how I was kind of feeling over LV too. I didn’t want to bash the brand either but I am feeling very over them lately, though I still can appreciate some of the beautiful pieces and the ones I do have. It’s not just the poor company and customer service experience that led me to feel this way; I also recently picked up and returned my first speedy mono b 25. When I received it, I was...kind of underwhelmed. Yes, it’s a nice piece, but as I looked at it I just kept thinking to myself that it was kind of lacklustre. But it’s so iconic and many people love it and I see the appeal. I just couldn’t stay on board with it once I was in the boat. The whole bulkyness mixed with the wrinkles/dents in the canvas that mine and some others seem to have wasn’t super appealing to me once I actually had one. And I can see on some bags, the dents don’t really go away. But if a mini duffle is what I was truly wanting/into, Id keep it. I like the mono print and the luggage styled bags, but at the end of the day I kind of feel I’ve been duped.

This brand has gone way downhill in quality- we’ve all seen the crooked LV prints and some of the pretty shotty things on the “is this normal” thread. Some posts are not big deals imo but I’ve seen some whoppers. Maybe LV’s online presence has made them become more mass produced and saturated the market to where they have so much demand and now quality is lacking. There’s a lot of hype, followed my more price increases. Then there are the hard to get bags that are really only a bit hard to get at the beginning, if that. Then not too long later they pop on and off the website, or even sit on the site for days, some time later. I live in Canada and I only had to text an SA I never even purchased from yet and I had a speedy 25b in a matter of days. And the vanitypm has been on for 4 days straight now.

I still do appreciate the aesthetic but maybe it’s not my personal aesthetic at this time. Whenever I show DH pics of online LV bags I’m looking at and ask him what he thinks, he always responds with something to the effect of how he can appreciate it is a nice piece but that he’s just not a fan of the print and material. Sometimes I can concur with this feeling. I want to branch out to something else for a bit, something I find more interesting, better quality and a nicer, more personal customer experience.

That’s very true!
Sometimes what others like seems to interfere with what value I attach to something. I have to overcome that. But I will ask myself the questions you mentioned. :)

Ugh, I have been through this debate in my head for awhile now. I haven't even carried an LV bag in 2 months. Not sure if it is a phase, or what. I keep thinking Ill get back into one but then I just don't. I have 5 bags now and all are just sitting on the shelf.
