The fact that this has been in the works since 2020 and there were no leaks is amazing! RBG died in 2020.
This is a 2019 program made by the Blackwell and Ruth Production Company in conjunction with the Nelson Mandela Foundation.

The Sussexes had nothing to do with making it. The program sat on a shelf until Archwell acquired the rights to it and then sold it to Netflix. Their only involvement is hosting it.

this is a good point. I am by no means a fan, I had no idea who she even was prior to 2018. I don't care about either of them.

However, when I see one human being being constantly, horribly attacked and villified for simply existing and speaking her truth, I cease to remain impartial. Believing the absolute worst of someone, wishing for her demise, attacking her from every single possible angle they can think of - we forget she's a human being, just like we are. She's been dehumanized to the point of no return. That is what I find disgusting. We can do better.
Completely agree! The time people put into this hatred obsession of her is so unbelievable and disgusting to me.

Judging as a Brit, and a taxpayer, this is exactly what we didn't want her to do. We wanted her to ease herself in gently, learn the ropes, listen to people who were advising her and for her to be there to support the Monarchy and not to overshadow it. She would've been fine. I'm quite sad it's ended like this. Sad for The Queen, Prince Philip, Charles and William. Also sad for Harry as I see no way back.
I see it differently! I am hoping the reunite as a family!

And truthfully, there won't be a family (business-wise) to reunite unless the monarchy takes steps to modernize, change and adapt to a new world. George V had to do it when his brother abdicated, HMTQ had to do it, and KCIII/William must do it. Meghan is a representative of the changing world-wide demographic. She and Harry are media GOLD and have a pulse on the issues people and society care most about (mental health, diversity/inclusion/equity, social justice). This is why a seemingly innocuous blurb in a tabloid rag randomly posted on TWITTER has turned into worldwide condemnation, increasing scrutiny on TRF, and calls from politicians to pass media harassment legislation. Social media is the new PR battlefield - not tabloid trash. Call it 'woke' but Meghan and Harry are modern, fresh, current and on trend - all of the things TRF is not. For TRF underestimate and mistreat them, and by extension, send two loaded weapons out in the world to present a modern image of the royals counter to their own, was very foolish. If Meghan and Harry were better protected and given some leniency to make money within their roles, the Netflix series may not be as popular, but it would have been desperately needed propaganda for TRF, instead of drawing ire to the British media and the future king's horrible treatment of his biracial relative. Knowing how workshy the heir is, KCIII could have sent Meghan and Harry to do all the commonwealth tours and given them some royal patronages (with Netflix in tow). Who cares? Her popularity will never change her position in the line of succession, so it would have been a net win for KP regardless.

I hope they reunite as a family but I just don't see Harry ever being a part of the traditional BRF as we knew it prior to Megxit. I think this whole ordeal has really shown the world who the "real" Harry is and we may not have ever heard his candid feelings about the institution otherwise. Now that we have it I really do believe Harry was bound to break out of the mold no matter what, and there were only ever going to be conflict-ridden paths out given he's so different than the others. I don't think he was ever going to marry a Kate Middleton type - and didn't even date one - or keep the same level of "stiff upper lip" as the others... That's just not him. While this whole thing was tragic I think it may have been the healthiest path for him... people who feel they are stuck in an institution and can't be themselves tend to go down much worse paths.

Personally, I don't think the BRF needs to modernize. They are what they are and a lot of people love them for it. But it was bound to happen that an off-shoot would happen that was different, modern, etc. I do not think one is better than the other or needs to force the other into their own mold and I think that's what's happening now. The question is, can they all get along to leverage this breadth they now have as a larger family? I'd argue no one out there does it better than the Brits when it comes to honoring both traditional brands and modern ones - and side by side!

Yes, This! M&H can make more money and reach more causes and charities without be being a second string puppets .

The documentary confirmed for me that Harry did not want or “plan” a way out of royal life prior to Meghan. He lamented his role for sure but I don’t think he ever considered leaving and coming to America. Before Meghan he had little to no connection to America at all. He served in the British military for 10 years, (publicly) dated European women and majority of his patronages (Invictus Games) were UK based. He seemed very devoted to his duty until it became a threat to the health and safety of his wife and family. We also know he attempted to negotiate with TRF and continue to serve the Queen but William and KCIII made their stance clear. My point was that TRF appeared to be inflexible and down right nasty with M & H (especially thru the media) in ways that weren’t necessary and will ultimately go against their long-term interest of keeping the monarchy relevant and alive. Right now, there is a petition on change.org for the removal of Prince William’s POW title. It’s closing in on 50,000 signatures potentially making it the most signed petition ever on that site. And this has nothing to be with M or H but how Wales wants to be represented. I am not saying this as a dig to William, but merely highlighting no institution is infallible, every single entity is vulnerable to extinction unless they adapt and modernize to the current climate. H and M will need to do the same thing in showing some fealty to KCIII as his son/DIL because at the end of the day that is what is expected of them. There is no way out of it for anyone.

Harry has always shown his discomfort with royal life and keeping the same relationship with the media that the others did. America is clearly because of Meghan but I absolutely believe he was bound to break out of the mold one way or another. They had planned to move to Africa, as he said in the documentary!
