I am glad you like this and find it helpful. I thought that if I could explain the washing, that maybe there would be more wearing for those that are a little hesitant to wear them, particularly new scarfies!!!

Later I will have the pics of the dry ones...scarf porn, LOL!

OMG! [cue Twilight Zone theme here...] I have been thinking all evening about washing a scarf!! I haven't done it before but I have a few that are just too stiff. I bought one that had been washed and it is soooo silky and drapes so well. So, I've been picturing how I would do it and worrying about ruining a scarf, etc.

Anyway, I log on here and here is your thread!! It was like I "willed" it to be with all my thinking about it!!!

Thank you so much for such detail. I can't thank you enough!!! :flowers:

Great pics.

I've been handwashing my scarves for over three years, and I always use a Shout color catcher. Better safe than sorry!

Keep the water moving, use tepid water, and don't let the scarf sit wadded up and you should have no dye transfer -- particularly with modern scarves. Older scarves didn't have the dyes set as well, and I've known people to have problems with them (I haven't though).
