If you have bought all your bags in a boutique, then they would have a customer record of all you've purchased. Perhaps call your SA up and ask for an itemised receipt of all that you've purchased with dates on them? I need to update my insurance company when values go up or down, and LV seems to have price increases most of the time, so I do my inventory update with the insurance company annually. It's good to keep your bag collection protected.

This is actually an amazing thread... I am not sure exactly what to tell you, but I would love to see responses

Makes me think I need to get my bags seen by my insurance!

If you "rent" from your mum you may be able to take out a renters insurance policy to cover your things. They are usually very inexpensive - like $10-40/month depending on how much coverage you buy.

They are not insured in particular...just under my regular policy for the contents of my house. Insurance in its self is a major concern as I live in Florida. Mine went up $600.00 this year and my Moms insurance was cancelled even though she had never filed a claim in 47 years. She is finding it difficult to get insurance, let alone one that she can afford.

ciatta, I live in New Orleans! Insurance here is AWFUL to get/afford. I met someone recently whose insurance went from $1700 to $8000 a year on a house that was destroyed and still had not been replaced/fixed. And they told her she had to keep paying it or else she might not be able to get insurance again if she let the policy lapse.

Under the basic homeowners you won't get replacement coverage for luxury items. You need to talk to your agent and make sure you take pics and keep receipts of each bag.

Just out of curiosity how many of you have insurance on your bags? If you are out and about and it's not in your car is it possible to claim it on your home owners policy if something happens to it or it gets stolen or does it need to be under your personal articles policy?
