"Halo" Ring Setting - which shape diamonds look best with it? share your pics!

Ms. Cady, I would like an update on your ring! What happened to it being done a week ago??? hehe

My jeweler went on vacation!!! He's on vacation until the 11th!! Apparently, he likes going on vacation every year after the holiday rush...can't say I blame him! But I was bummed when I got the call!!!

The ring with it's 2 bands is on it's way to me and I should receive that later this week!

Then I just have to wait till the 15th when I can go in and see my jeweler and get the stones reset. So I'll probably get it completely around the 22nd or end of the month at the latest!

I want to wear my current ring on Valentines Day...the DF apparently has something special planned!

I dropped off my ring with the jeweler today! After discussing it with him more we decided to do the two wedding bands as an insert-style that my ring will fit into and make a double halo on both sides. I couldn't really do 2 separate bands b/c with the style of my ring there wouldn't be a way to keep them in place without soldering it all together from the beginning, and I'm not quite ready to make that commitment till I can wear it awhile. This way I'll be able to wear it w/ the engagement ring and insert and still have the option of just wearing the engagement ring, or later separating the insert into 2 bands and soldering it all together if I decide to. It should be finished in about 3 weeks, I can't wait to see it!!

Why thank-you =) Yes, I did get it in Australia. Custom made. I was always going to go for a princess cut, but, I saw a pic of a pear and changed my mind, I just fell in love with it. I think it's unique and different. It's not as common as the princess cut, but, I'm starting to see a lot more pears nowadays =)
