Just saw this thread! I have a Simon G 3-stone halo ring and am stressing out about what to do for a wedding band! I've narrowed it down to doing a custom band on both sides that will basically make them double halos, or doing a regular diamond band that won't show all that well b/c if it's flush against ring it gets hidden under the halos. Thoughts?e ring.jpg

I think a custom band would be best - either one or two that sandwich like you mentioned. I LOVE your ring! it's gorgeous! Your three stone ring reminds me of Cady's. . .I can't wait to see her re-set either!!!

Thank you! I've just had a hard time taking the plunge w/ a custom band since I can't see it first...but I'll probably just go for it. :smile1: Ooh, I'll have to find the pic of her ring!

Wow! That is such a unique ring. I would personally do a plain platinum band that sits flush on the bottom of the ring. Maybe custom it so it follows the same lines and shape of the edge of your ring. That way, when you don't fully feel like committing to wearing the full engagement ring, you have the option to take it off and still have a feel for the shape of it. I prefer the look of a plain band to not take any attention way from the gorgeous diamonds of the settings. It'll also be easier for when you are doing homework and other things where you may not want to have diamonds on.

A plain band is definitely something to think about too...it all feels like such a big decision! Our wedding is just over 3 months away too so I need to be deciding soon!

For now, I suggest not soldering the bands and e-ring together if you are getting a custom piece. That way, you have the option of wearing your e-ring by itself (I think it looks stunning just the way it is, without a band), with one band. . or with two!

Another idea is to get a band that you've had your eye on (maybe one that matches your DF's - but with diamonds :graucho:) and wear it on your right hand?

I would definitely do custom! It's what I ended up doing! I'm having two wedding bands as well and they are going to sandwich my ering. They are just diamond bands that contour the sides of my ering.

Your ring is AMAZING!!!!! I absolutely love it the three stone halo!!!

See the attached exibit!!

Thank you! And I love your ring!!! It definitely makes me want to do something custom!

Are you going to get yours all soldered together or keep them separate? Mine is a little tricky b/c the halos sort of sit on top of the band (I could basically "hide" 2 narrow bands underneath them if that makes sense, so I would probably have to get them soldered to keep it in place...)

I'm going to keep all mine separate. At least for a little while, I like having options, so perhaps if I decide to not wear my ering, I'll just wear the two bands stacked or something.

I looked at a Simon G setting...SO BEAUTIFUL!!!
