I used to have one years ago but then I started to see it on the young girls in the street and now I just feel it's a little bit cheap looking. If I had to save for a Chanel I would rather wait a little longer and get something more substantial. I gifted my Half moon to my housekeeper and she was over joyed with it! Enjoy yours in good health!! Keep on saving for something great though! :loveeyes:

Weird question but how young were those girls approximately? I'm very curious because I wear caviar quilted GHW WOC and I am 21. I hear some people say they are turned off by the bag because of the young people who wear it. Just wondering if I am one of them LOL

Chanelite - - . . . It's a shame you would be deterred from a purchase because "young girls on the street" are wearing it. . . In Manhattan NYC you will often see sophisticated and cultured young girls wearing very high end designer fashion of various types because 1) they are making TONS of money and like the finer things in life 2) they are emulating styles worn by their mothers or other fashionable women in their family or 3) simply because they liked an item and saved their money to buy it.

I would hardly liken that to being "cheap" . . . It must be hard to buy many things since you'll often see the "young girls" with them.

I feel like the more accurate complaint is that a lot of young girls tend to wear the bag incorrectly (ie wrong clothes, etc) and that cheapens the look. I am 22 with a WOC and a Boy- that doesn't mean I don't know how to wear them or that my having them cheapens the look of those bags. I think it would take a lot more than myself to ruin something as gorgeous as chanel!

i own 5 chanel bags and 3 of them are half moon wocs - metallic purple, navy and metallic silver. i am a casual, cross-body only type of woman and just love the bags for everyday use. they hold so much more than the other WOC styles. they are my everyday bag and i just rotate the colors. two are caviar, except the purple, it feels more like soft lambskin. i do tend to associate the style with young(er) women, but it can be worn so many ways! love the half moon! congrats on your new bag!
