Lj and Purpleflower -- It is interesting how tastes change yet some things always the same. I always (and still) had a black bag, black leggings, shoes etc liked browns and colors but never knew how to coordinate away from my basic black. A brown or Red bag i would've admired but never purchased or it would sit in my closet. Now from watching others, I love to add a Blue or a Red etc as a pop of color! Stepping out of my comfort zone in my early 50s finally ha Though the Dipinta bag would be too out there lol

Craving rich browns maybe is like craving a good coffee  Where I live in CT, close to NYC, A saddle/brown bag is coveted.
Lunalark and Purpleflower:
I think that changing styles, changing fashion, and also where you live ... all have a lot
to do with what we are comfortable with and what we want to own and wear.
Different parts of the country have very different vibes and fashion. And that's ok.
And depending upon your age, and stage of life, you needs are different.

If you live in a big city and need a tote for work, black or brown may be the default.
In certain areas where ladies wear shades of bone and beige, a natural or saddle color
tailored handbag seems to fit right in. (I'll never look like these ladies, no matter what I wear!)

When I was working in a corporate job, shoes and handbag matched.
Clothing was a dark suit and a blouse, accessories were navy, black, brown,
taupe, or red for a pop of color. Silk scarfs were very popular, often tied to a handbag.

Times have changed. What looks right and coordinated is in the eye of the beholder.
My younger relatives think I'm nuts to have so many handbags in different colors.
And almost everyone with little kids carries a large tote. These ladies are happy to shower every day,
coordinating handbag colors isn't their top priority. :) When we get older, we are happy to be able
to lift our handbags.

So true. It is a freeing time to enjoy what we like just because :) And lifting them too lol

Btw great talk on the Alto vs Florentine you both advised on. Answered Alto questions I had on them thanks!

Lunalark: my pleasure. Answering questions and thinking about the handbags, leathers, styles,
features is fun. And trying to be more analytical balances some of the
urge to just buy everything I like. (I still buy too many bags). :)

One of these days, I want to discuss leathers used for handbags. The more I 'learn' the
more questions I have and the more frustrated I am on the subject. It's not a question of
what I like or what the leathers look and feel like, but rather one of quality. Which is better
quality....and when does it matter? Some day, when I have lots of time, I'll start that
discussion.

My Black saddle bag arrived this morning. Wow! Gorgeous! In perfect condition&wrapped exquisitely. They did a great job with this bag and the packing. I received #91/100 so my insomnia scrolling Dooney.com paid off that night lol
