Lunalark: I'm happy I was able to get the saddle bag. I loaded it up and it sat on my dresser and I enjoyed looking at it. These days, my handbags stay safely inside.... no rain or stain or weight issues. Someday,
when things 'return to normal' my handbags will again enjoy the outside world.

The fact that the long shoulder/cross body strap could be shortened to a hand carry length
meant that I could buy and enjoy using the saddle bag. I don't know if the original saddle bag
had the 3 part long shoulder/cross body strap or if that's an improvement made in the
current version. I think the inside pockets also changed in the current version.

The Dooney and ILD sites didn't detail the strap info.... but one of the YouTube videos
from a recent purchaser had those details. So, now I have one Florentine saddle bag and
I'd like more. It's a beautifully made handbag, with nice styling and functional details.

I wish Dooney would bring back more of the original Florentine styles. There were some
beauties. Did we appreciate the detailing and the whip stitching in those handbags?

I'm so glad you like the bag! I had a feeling you might wind up with one. You are a Dooney expert, especially on function. Glad to know it's also made beautifully! The Dooneynista videos detail and show the bags so much better than Dooney! The 3 part strap is a big want and selling point. I'm curious also if the original had this. My mail bag does not. I will watch a Dooney Addict 615 older video to see. She has a Crimson one that is gorgeous. I also thought the new version might be a touch longer length wise? Maybe my eyes are deceiving me with that. Seems bigger to me.

I started my Florentine love by reading here, then seeing Pecan Tanned beauty had videos. There are some beautiful original styles for sure! I bet you have an incredible collection! I came in around the Aqua Medium Satchel craze. I managed to get an Aqua Twist Strap Hobo, A Crimson satchel, A Natural Medium pocket Tassell bag in Red and Natural (Oh that is a beauty! All the whipstitched details :)) my Mail bag, A Denim Stanwich, Violet messenger bag, among a few "oldies" I was blessed to find and get. The hardware is amazing, like jewelry. Now I take a lug bag if I have to go out, so mine are staying in too. Today's indoor display is my Chestnut small satchel inspired by your new Chestnut choice :)

Will post when I receive my saddle bag. Hopefully I won't get famously back ordered but I'm ready for lol With your Chestnut bag, which slg's did you choose?

Congratulations to all who got in on the recent Saddle Resurrection. I didn't partake because around 3 years I spent a pretty penny on a like-new Saddle on Ebay, back when it had already been discontinued for a few years and was hard to find online.

I don't regret the amount I spent on it because it was in great condition and, like most Dooney products especially Florentine, the quality merited a higher price than what Dooney sold it for to begin with.

And it, like the return of the Russel and the Smith over past couple of years, gave me hope that other classic hit styles will have a brief resurrection.

Saddles are natural and black....love love love...you have the domed satchel in natural....I am jealous! Do the handles stays on your shoulder? If I get one domed it may turn to 3 lol

U did get the black too awesome!. Ok don't hate my enabling ;) i had to take these to show you if you are considering (in the basement for lighting purposes) but here is my Natural Domed....it stays on my shoulders well. I am 5'3" Valerie bertinelli look alike best I can describe and it isn't too heavy for me. To me, it's one of my lightest carries. At first I babied it, but now not so much, and it's held up well. One repellant spray ever and I condition as needed. This bag is 4 years old now..I would love another eventually, for now Natural has my heart.

Dark spots are patina, not as dark in person...scratches still rub out easy on this bag.

I happened to be using my Tmoro small Flo zip around wallet when I changed into the Chestnut mail bag,
so I stayed with it. I added a dark brown credit card case (from the Dooney Concord line) and a brown and white Dooney zebra pattern cosmetic case.

I try to change my SLGs at least once a month to rotate them. It does bother me when the SLGs don't
go with either the outside or the inside of the handbag. I am not into mixing lots of colors. I like things
to look planned. They don't have to match, but they should relate. All different shades of a color are fine, but only 1 items can be a pattern. I know.... I'm a little controlling. But I figure... my handbag,
my SLGs, my pleasure. Others can do what makes them happy. :)

You had me at the Brown tonal theme with just 1 pattern mixed in! I'm the same way. I like the organized look of a tonal or 1 color design with a touch of pattern for uniqueness. My dark brown hair I do the same with tonal mahogany red chocolate highlights so I'm thinking I have color OCD lol

The Saddle bag in Chestnut is the best color for this beauty I think.

It has taken me decades to appreciate the rich color of good brown leather.
I guess because my coloring and clothing are better suited to cool colors
(brights, not pastel), I always chose black and navy before brown.
For a pop of color it was red or purple. I love colors and over the ears my handbag wardrobe
filled out to include all the colors of the rainbow. Until recently.... shades of brown
and tan were always near the bottom of my color choice preferences.
This year, I seem to crave rich browns, saddles, and Florentine natural.
What is happening to me?

I don't share the love on chestnut at all..even tmoro brown does nothing for me....but that NATURAL....which I never liked before...has become just it for me....it's interesting how things change for us...I have kept a few chestnut toned bags because maybe as I age my views my change...

Lj and Purpleflower -- It is interesting how tastes change yet some things always the same. I always (and still) had a black bag, black leggings, shoes etc liked browns and colors but never knew how to coordinate away from my basic black. A brown or Red bag i would've admired but never purchased or it would sit in my closet. Now from watching others, I love to add a Blue or a Red etc as a pop of color! Stepping out of my comfort zone in my early 50s finally ha Though the Dipinta bag would be too out there lol

Craving rich browns maybe is like craving a good coffee :) Where I live in CT, close to NYC, A saddle/brown bag is coveted.
