This! St. Barths is worth a visit for itself! The fact that there is an Hermes boutique is just a bonus. (The staff there is very, very nice and, especially if you have a real interest in the brand, they will spend oodles of time with you.)

Mindi B :hugs: Thank you! I'm really psyched about going in 2 weeks.. Counting the days now :D

Hoping the weather will cooperate and will report back on what goodies they have.

Got confirmation that they will be closed the last week of May to second week of July - May 27th - July 15th to be exact.

Thanks for the information. It would be very helpful if the H store listings could list their opening days for seasonal boutiques such as St. Barths. Another is Capri, Italy. All I know is that they open on March 29 but what day this location closes up shop for the season I am unsure.

Hi! I live on St. Bart's half the year - and the H store is excellent. All the SAs have been around quite a while. As for special bags - they do get in some beauties mainly to accommodate the yachts and as others posted - it is now low season. Last week the selection was quite fun - I mostly love the clothes as they are not items that will be seen in the US. For bags I always frequent my Greenwich boutique. Cheers and have fun - bring your bug spray for the 5pm feeding frenzy!!! It's that time of year!!!

How fabulous HollyandHarper - half the year in St. Barth! Yikes for bugs, I'll be sure to get sheltered by 5PM LOL. BTW the boutique sounds wonderful, thanks for the info!

Going to spend the holidays in St Barths this year. During Christmas seasons, is the H boutique there a good place to score a K? I'll be there for a week or two.
If you shop this store, try calling ahead a couple weeks before your trip to introduce yourself. I really like Virginie at this store but all the SA's are wonderful there. A few days in advance of your visit, you may want to call again to let them know what you're searching for and what day you plan to come in. This is the only store I ever shopped where they showed me multiple bags to choose from, and it wasn't a take it or leave it situation. They also had no expectation of me to buy other items in order to get the bag I wanted. One thing I will share about my last visit there-- I bought a 30 Birkin, and before they boxed it, they removed all the plastic from the hardware other than the feet. I didn't notice it until I got the bag home. They also removed all other tags on scarves and clothing. I called my regular store in NYC to ask why they would do this, and they told me two tales 1.) corporate is trying to thwart resellers, and 2.) they may have removed the plastic because of the humidity. Just something to note if you buy a bag, and you don't want the plastic removed by anyone but you. Good luck!!!

Totally great advice. The staff here is refreshingly forthright and terrific about helping you find what you want, without pressure. I think most European boutiques remove tags; at least; the US is somewhat unusual in that they typically do not.

I was just at the St Barths store a couple weeks ago. Although I got a gorgeous exotic wallet and some great silks, they did not have any birkin or kelly.

I was in the store three times during my vacation, and never saw anyone luck out with a birkin or kelly. Lots of people buying bracelets and other bags, though.

But in any case, St. Barts is a very beautiful island, so you cannot go wrong visiting there!

Hi! St Bart's is awesome and the H there is wonderful! I have been the last 2 Januarys and both times have gotten some great items! Just be aware that they close seasonally so you should check that out.

The inventory in St Barths is always a haven for hard to find items in my local boutique. Good luck!

I want to thank vivala, Mindi B, hopiko, Everlong,HollyandHarper and aynrand very much for all your sound advice, tips and information. I had such a great time in St. Barth (beautiful villas, beaches, food, ambiance, people) and thoroughly enjoyed my time in H there - Mindi B was right, all the staff were very very nice, patient and forthcoming, even DF loves it there and couldn't stop talking about how nice the staff are :D

Can't wait to return!!

I think they do close for the down season, so you might check ahead of time if they will be open.

And thank you lulilu - didn't mean to forget you!

Regarding stock - it's low season (closing this coming Monday) so no new items until they reopen in July. Even so, they have quite a bit of summer RTWs, silks, twillys (I saw a few Brides de Gala), lots of sandals: colourful Galets, Oasis, Orans, Icone, lots of watches, jewellery, Clics, and leather bracelets.

And two bicycles! :D
