H good avail in Japan only - Help/Recommendations

Been following this thread to see any updates regarding stock since I am sure we are all eager to visit Japan again (and shop at those plethora of Hermes stores!)

I would check locations settings on Instagram for the Ginza and other big boutiques to see what people are posting and it seems unfortunately that the dreaded "For Display Only" sign can be seen in Japanese boutiques for even non K/B/C bags. I was thinking Japan stores would for sure have a surplus of bag stock from the past years of the border being closed but it does not seem like the case. Maybe the stores in less touristy cities would be more inclined to offer any bags to us.

Prices are very favorable at the moment- say a bag is $8,000+ before sales tax in the USA. In Japan, after your tax refund it would be a just a bit over $7K, I estimate.

Hi everyone!
I am currently in Japan for my wedding honeymoon and was thinking of visiting Hermes here
I already bought a Kelly from Spain - do you think it is possible to get a Kelly (mini, 25 or to go) here?
And what about others like bolide or Evelyn?

Any tips? (I am staying until Oct 19)
Thanks!

Japan's H boutiques can't see what you've purchased oversea. As all H boutiques around the world, it all depends on your luck and finding the right SA at the right time (when they have your bag in stock). Pre-spend is always good but nothing guaranteed. I've been offered quota bag without any pre-spend before at the Ginza location, but it was a B30 in a weird color so I declined.

Thanks for the info!
I will be in Kyoto nas Tokio, is it necessary to call in advance for an appointment?
Any boutique recommendations?

If you have a tightly scheduled itinerary, definitely won't hurt to have your hotel to call in and make an appointment for you so you can fit it into your schedule. Otherwise, walk-in should be fine on a regular week days, best to stop by 1st thing in the morning so you won't to wait as long. Do prepare them to give you the standard answer of 'no bags, no birkin or kelly"....They don't even take down your contact info so if you're determined to buy at least one bag, can do walk-in everyday to test your luck. You may have better luck with the Eveylne though since it's not that popular in Japan, they may have limited stock available but probably not the size or color you want. Bolide is really popular there so they may not have one for you but doesn't hurt to ask. Also let your DH to ask about the bags, let the SA know he wants to buy you a bag for the honeymoon and see if they're willing to offer you something since it's for a special occasion.

Please share your experience. How is the stock like (both quota and non quota bags)?
