I think it is really about luck. When I went to Paris two years ago, I also tried to find a birkin or a kelly, and went to all three stores in Paris, but no luck. However, I did find my H angel in New York as walk in for my first kelly. I will be traveling to Japan late April and early May, and will visit Osaka, Kyto and Tokyo. Hopefully I will be lucky in Japan.

Good luck in your search:smile1: and if you don't mind could you scout around the stock and price for a Bolide 35 in regular leather like clemance/togo. Would really appreciate the info. Hope you get your B or K on your trip.

Thank you! I had no luck with b or k purchase, although they offered me a b 35 crocodile that I cannot afford.. Sorry they didn't have a bolide but I did see a Lindy 26 in gold.

I know that in Japan and Paris is mostly about luck, but I think luck isn't very good in Japan as compared to Paris, and with the amount of energy spent, I would rahter choose Paris, unless you are travelling to Japan, and visit Hermes on your free time.

I do believe that Kyoto is nearly impossible, they are very unreceptive to walk ins, they just tell you a flat no without even checking, not even for mini evelyne. Good luck!

I'll be going to both Tokyo and Kyoto later this year so that's some good information to know about the Kyoto store- thanks! [emoji4]

You are welcome. Good luck, and I do hope you get lucky in Kyoto (I would love to be prove wrong), but the vibe at the store was rather cold and insenstive, they don't even greet you and ask you if there is anything they could help.

PS. if anyone is looking for Lindy, they are pretty easily available, I saw 26, 30, 34, in different colors. But I didn't see any at Hankyu Umeda or Namba Takashimaya though.

Thanks for the further information! That's so strange because the Japanese tend to be so polite and accommodating (that has been my experience shopping there!) but to be fair I have only been to Tokyo (this will be my first trip to Kyoto). I'll report back once I've been to the Kyoto store in May!

I find the attitude/service level at Japan's H stores seem to be going down the drain. I've been shopping at Japan's H stores for years, not solely for B,K, or L. The latest was my purchase of Victoria and Picotin. Not even a smile or their usual greeting "thank you for your purchase". The SAs at Christian Louboutin, Fendi, Goyard and Bottega where I got my other bags were so much more friendlier and made me feel they were happy I made a purchase from them.

pretty true, except Ginza Tokyo, most SAs in other stores, be it in Tokyo or Osaka are pretty cold and unfriendly

I had not so pleasant experience in Ginza Tokyo store recently. I asked for garden party only and they replied all bags are out. Then I saw a SA took out a bag from the back to replace an empty spot in the shelves.

Obviously its the H mothership in Japan and all bags are not out on floor!

Thanks for all the helpful information! My expectation to find a b or k in Japan is not high then. However, do you know if Japan stores would have some special items for Japan only? Like special bags, scarf, bag charm or maybe certain colors would be more available than US? Like pink colors.

In my opinion , In japan store Depend on your relation ship Formy self my saAlway verynice to me He or she will be serve me in the Back room and give me the choice of bags that they have in the STock I have just back from Tokyo I got offered the Birkin 30 in orange poppy and Birkin 25 Bule de glacier

While I am a tourist, I am a frequent traveller and travel at least 3 times a year to Japan. Out of 20 or so trips, I have been offered only about 7 times or so by my SA. It's really hard to get a B or K. Exhausting is an understatement

Yes, I do agree that the Japanese are very polite and accommodating, but this changes when it come to H. I am not saying all the sa at H are cold, but there are a good chance you will run into them.

Last time when I was at the Shibuya Tokyu, I got really upset, so upset that when I came home, I decided to write a letter addressing the department store complaing about it. When I entered the store, the sa was showning a Japanese lady a red crocodile constance(forget the size), I was standing very far from them, and only took a look at what was being shown, then the SA ran toward me and told me in a very defensive manner, that I can't have the red constance! I was really upset, as I wasn't anywhere near them (I was at least 10 steps away), and I never asked about the bag. Overall, my experience with H isn't that good.

Oh, and if you are visiting the Midosuji Hermes, avoid an old, middle aged male SA, with grey hair, he is what I would call a rejector, whatever I said, he wait for me to finish the sentence, and said, no no no no. The female sa I met was at least kind enough to check the availability of mini evelyne for me.
