Yes I believe that applies to most locations if you have a relationship with the SA. But its hard for tourists to have such relationship unless you travel there frequently.

or if you are a big spender, that will send you on the fast track of B/K/C. I am not saying it's impossible, but I just felt it has become very hard to score as a walk ins in Japan( I do see the successful stories, that's why I thought to write about my unsuccessful storeis to balance.)

While I am a tourist, I am a frequent traveller and travel at least 3 times a year to Japan. Out of 20 or so trips, I have been offered only about 7 times or so by my SA. It's really hard to get a B or K. Exhausting is an understatement

Thank you for you comment, it's so enlightening. I have tried Japan Hermes for four times, and was only successful once, it wasnt even togo, epsom or clemence, it was exotics. But I couldn't stand the thought of going home with nothing, so I took it, otherwise I would have failed for four times.

That's why I said at the previous posts that with the mark up price in Japan, and the difficulty, I do think Paris is a much better choice.

Yes, I do agree that the Japanese are very polite and accommodating, but this changes when it come to H. I am not saying all the sa at H are cold, but there are a good chance you will run into them.

Last time when I was at the Shibuya Tokyu, I got really upset, so upset that when I came home, I decided to write a letter addressing the department store complaing about it. When I entered the store, the sa was showning a Japanese lady a red crocodile constance(forget the size), I was standing very far from them, and only took a look at what was being shown, then the SA ran toward me and told me in a very defensive manner, that I can't have the red constance! I was really upset, as I wasn't anywhere near them (I was at least 10 steps away), and I never asked about the bag. Overall, my experience with H isn't that good.

Oh, and if you are visiting the Midosuji Hermes, avoid an old, middle aged male SA, with grey hair, he is what I would call a rejector, whatever I said, he wait for me to finish the sentence, and said, no no no no. The female sa I met was at least kind enough to check the availability of mini evelyne for me.

Oh dear that's a terrible experience! I think you definitely did the right thing by writing a letter to the department store about it! Thanks again for all this insightful information- it's very useful.

Posted in inventory thread too but Ginza had a colvert phw so Kelly and two mini Evelynes in sapphire and orange
Marunouchi had two swift toolbox 26 one in black and one in blue atoll
There's a 45 Birkin in etoupe (I think)

Was this in the back or on display? At what time of the day? How did you ask for it? Thanks in advance. I woulda totally taken the b25!

It was on the back around 7.30pm, I did ask for B/K. It was a hard decision too for me to say no. I love black B, but for me 30 would be perfect as 25 would be nicer in pop colours.
I also turned down K32 & B30 in Craie, but I did bring home K28 Bleu Nuit.

May I ask if you had bought something else (non- leather)
before popping the question of b/k?
Tks

I go to Tokyo around 5-6x a year. My experience for the past 2 years is that stock is quite abysmal because the yen is so cheap and there is a 2x increase in tourists flocking to Japan for b/ks. I'm glad I have a regular SA there, as I hear it is very difficult to score as a walk-in without any purchases. However, yen has now gone up quite a bit this year, so perhaps stock will be slightly better
