It's a B30

So here is my story.

My hubby and I went to niseko for a ski trip, and on 27 Jan we went to Sapporo in the evening, just to stay there overnight and then took the early afternoon flight to Osaka the next day. Of course I could not resist the urge to go check out the stock at Daimaru H which is the only H store in Hokkaido.

When I arrived at the H store on 27th it was already 7.40pm, just 20mins before the department store closes. A Kelly pochette sitting on the top of the shelf (among other bags like Lindy and So-Kelly) immediately caught my eyes. Although Rose Sakura is not one of my favorite color, I asked the SA to let me try on. I was (and still do) looking for a Kelly bag, but the pochette is really too small for my daily use. I asked the SA if they got other Kelly or Birkin bags but she said no. I left empty handed thinking I might have to try my luck in Osaka instead.

The next day we were to take the 11am JR train to New Chitose airport. When we passed by Daimaru which is right next to the JR station, I decided to go to H store again, thinking that maybe I should look at the Kelly pochette one more time and see if I would purchase it. The SA that served me the night before was helping some other Korean girls choosing scarves. After a while, another SA came to me and I asked her if they got any Kelly bags. She told me the Kelly pochette was the only one they have, "but we have several birkins in size 30."

Haha, I bet no H lovers wouldn't have their heart beating faster on hearing that!

I immediately asked her the colors of the birkins. "We got beige color, ... All in croco leather." My heart sank again, as I am not interested in any exotic leather. I asked the SA if they got any in ordinary leather. "We only got one." she replied, "in Anemone"

So she went inside the store and took out the orange box. "It's a Ghillies. It's very lovely and you are very lucky."

Frankly I am a neutral color person. I have never planned to buy another Birkin so soon after my Flag Birkin in Sep, and never would I imagined that I would be offered a B in such feminine, bright color. When the SA took out the bag and I carried it in my hand, I decided I would take it home, as the weight it much less than my other B35 (that one is real heavy) and the color is in fact very sharp and very eye catching.

So this is the end of my Japan H hunting last month. I did went to other H stores in Osaka and Kyoto but other than some Lindy bags and one croco Kelly cut, I did not see other Ks or Bs. I found the Cheval Paddock charm at Kansai airport H when I took the flight home, so I have to say I have a very satisfying trip.

May I ask if it is expected that you bargain/ask for a discount at reseller stores in Japan? Or are the prices firm?

Hi there! In Brand off they were giving me a discount but they did not lower it enough to where I would consider buying the B. At Komehyo, they were firm with the price but I bought it cause the bag was in "near mint" condition (according to komehyo standards) and still had all the accessories including box , dust bag, raincoat, lock and clochette, two cards, that I did not include in the photo. This is only based on my experience though.

I will be in Tokyo from March 12-19th. Grigri rodeo in black or dark blue. Are the rodeo charms hard to find in Japan? And does anyone know the price?

I already scored a gold Togo b30 in Bangkok in January so I can't really afford another b or k at the moment :(
