I have a Bucket tote from early 00's with the exact same serial Number - 002 1098 3444 - Do you know if the serial numbers relate to the individual bag or should I be worried about this - I WAS 100% sure it was authentic but now I dont know!

I got my gucci from saks fifth avenue, its like a fanny pack, its what carrie from sex in the city wore on an episode, but anyways i have 5 on top and 4 on the bottom

Where are you suppose to use these numbers?

I was just reading an article on ebay about how to tell with gucci bags and i took this little snipet from it:

- Serial number: Gucci bags have the serial number behind the small leather label inside the bag which indicates "Gucci made in Italy". This number consists of the article number, the model number and the Gucci season code. Shoes have it printed inside followed by the shoe size. Wallets have the serial number inside. Character of those numbers is always very clear and in the typical Gucci type font. With fakes it happens to bet hat the numbers are not as clear and clean printed or stamped as a real Gucci, and the type font is different.

hi.i just found out about this site.. "usaebuy.com" they sell Gucci,Prada,Burberry,etc. which they claim to be 100% authentic What made me skeptical though is the very, very low prices.its like 70-90% off! but they looked like theyre really real though..so im confused..? anyone heard of this site?or anyone might wanna check it out for a second opinion..

HI there!

Does anyone know if the serial number should match the number on the controllato card? Is the top number the model number of the bag and is the bottom number different in each bag?:confused1:

I just checked both my Gucci bags. They both have 6 numbers on top and bottom. However, both these bags were bought at the same time during the same season...it may change based on season and/or collection.

Hi to all.
Just got my first Gucci :dothewave:(and Chanel) :party: for my Birthday from my Husband :love:!
My Gucci is from the Gucci store in the Bahamas and it has 6 numbers on top and 6 numbers below. Also with further inspection in the inside of my bag I have an inside zippered pocket that is pretty deep and in the left side of the pockets lining is another Gucci tag (non leather) with the Gucci registered trade mark beside the name Gucci printed on it and another code number.
lol ,just imagining all of you running to check out your purse pockets :laugh:.

I have another thought-provoking one here .. can 2 exact Gucci model has the same serial number (bottom row)? I have 2 bags that I got from a reseller that claimed to sell authentic wholesale bags, both of my Gucci 137388 has 2 same serial number when flipped. Any takers?

The top number on all gucci bags is the style number, so will be the same on all bags of a particular style.

I was in Harvey Nics yesterday and was checking Gucci serial numbers... you can have 4 or 6 numbers on the bottom row (maybe you can have 5 as well, but didnt see that). The number on the second row should be unique.

I have the same dilemma. I have two bags-one brown-one black, both the same style, both with the same serial number. There was also another bag on ebay with the same serial number-that would make three bags, same style, and all with the same serial numbers! UGHHHH:confused1:
I will have to say, my bags look and feel very authentic. They are both very well made.:shrugs:
