It's like a kick in the teeth isn't it, it's not like that bag cost them more to make from one day to the next.
I think they just copy each other. H do it so LV does it so Gucci do it.
The pound has gone up so they have no reason to put prices up in the UK plus they said the would absorb the increase of tax.
Which bag was it princesskiwi? I didn't buy an LV Alma a couple of years ago because it went up £400.
LV work to a X 13 cost mark up on the products from cost so I don't feel I want to buy anything from them any more. That's one of the the highest in retail.
^Yes and they've sourced out their manufacturing of their popular style bags to Spain and the US - so no excuses! lol
I didn't notice any price increase with the sukeys. The new BTH are more expensive but then again, they've used exotics for them. So I guess it's reflective in the pricing along with the new S/S 2011 which is probably due to more detailed tedious handstitching they need to do.
I remember buying my brown guccissima boston in the summer 2008 for like $900 and now it's $1200 since last year so in a matter of 2 years, that particular style went up by $300 which is a pretty large increase.

Yep LV just have at least 11% price increase this week!! And some years they have two price increase per year!!!
I think Gucci only have one price increased per year. However I hope they still keep the sale ( even thou they already stop the second mark down)

I also remembered ladies web hobo has a price interest in the middle of the year due to popularity ( also might due to initial low price point ) and it was the only style has price increased at that time. But I didn't remember the increment. But less than $100.
I think the rational is so that these bags are only seen on an elite shopper. The problem is this rational doesn't always work and what happens is, someone with a limited salary will buy one of the bags and people will assume this person is wearing a knock off.
I noticed a price increase of 50 on the Sukey today. Guccissima Sukey was 980, now 1030.
wow. thats unfortunate. i just checked gucci US and no price increase so far. ugh. this makes me nervous. im sure there will be one soon. and remember i told you i wanted a guccissima sukey soooo bad! ugh. looks like i need to get it sooner than expected.
YEP! I've been checking the Gucci.com site, because I was going to buy a medium Sukey. Yesterday I decided to take the plunge and buy one, and discovered it had increased from $795 to $835! I added it to my cart anyway, and when I went to check out, they had reduced the price back to $795 for me in my cart. Don't know why, but I'll take it! 
I don't know if prices have increased across the board on other items, but I have been eyeing the Bamboo Bar Medium Hobo in Light Brown Leather which is a website exclusive for 2-3 weeks. Today I noticed it increased from $1190 to $1340. Bummer huh? Anyway I was undecided, so now I am decided I will not buy it.
