Brilliant idea! Sorry for the silly question, how do you attach the hair tie since the ends of the bag strap don't detach?
Since you have to put the straps together in the middle, you just take them apart and slip it on. And then put the straps back together.

I didn't have a black hair tie, so used some black thread instead. It's barely noticeable.

Generally I don't like tassels but the disco is so cute that I could probably live with it.
However I saw a woman carrying it cross body and with each step the tassel went slap-slap-slap against the bag or her leg. That would drive me crazy!!
If this was a common problem surely the bag would be less popular. Is this a problem anyone has experienced?

I think it depends how you wear it and how you walk? If I put my disco crossbody and it rests on my butt, then yes I would get the tassel moving to my walk. If I wear it so it rests on my side or front, then it's less likely.
I agree with the comment above. I think it depends on how you wear your bag. I always wear my disco crossbody to the front so I don't really notice the tassel/it doesn't flop around that much.
Thank you for the replies ladies, that's reassuring. I tend to wear cross body on my front / side so if the rest of you don't have an issue with the tassel flapping wildly, I'll probably be fine as well.
Twoblues, yes, I've been looking at the non-tassel white and black, which is lovely. I'm just worried that it isn't as neutral as the regular SD black and that it may be prone to colour transfer. So that's the trade off with the tassel! I'm not very fond of green. Now if only they had an oxblood or navy with no tassel...

If I'm not mistaken, there was a Navy non-tassel one (with pink or red on the sides - can't remember) at the end of last year. It might be worth a call to Gucci customer service to see if the color is still available.
