Gucci bamboo classic top handle in RED!

Its been a while since I purchased Gucci bags and I noticed that the current season includes the bag as mentioned in the title in red? Does anyone have it and care to share experience? In red or black?

Years ago I had the top handle bamboo bag in the pink/magenta colour, I was soooo in love with the style and still is, it was one of the more expensive bags I owned at the time and for some reason they didn't have it in red (!). Not sure if the red is making a come back or have I somehow missed the colour over the years? Can anyone tell me a bit more info about this style over the years, etc?

Would it be a mistake for me to get this bag because it feels like I'm purchasing something from the past....?

That's wonderful, and the stamped leather (same leather as on the old TF mid-00s bags) looks to be very scratch resistant and dirt proof which is also a bonus.

BTW, after that Magenta (SS10) there was also a dark red with suede lining (AW10) followed by a cherry (cerise) red (SS11). All wonderful colours.

That red Gucci bag is gorgeous and is a great choice. I own a few Gucci bags with the bamboo handle and I love them all. I just purchased another one on pre-order recently. I love the bamboo handle because of the classiness and nostalgia it represents.

Thank you for sharing that info. I believe I had the magenta one and while it was gorgeous, I can't get it to work with my wardrobe.

Do you any pics of the dark red or cherry red? And how do they compare to the current colour?

Thank you for that. I knew a little bit about the history when I first made the purchase of the pink/magenta colour way back, interesting how I'm getting older but my taste in bags haven't changed that much!
If you don't mind, can you please share pics of the bamboo bags that you've purchased?

Think I'm getting slightly excited by the though of maybe getting this bag again, and FINALLY in red which is what I wanted all those years ago!

There's also an Edge version (in smoother leather). Could be slightly darker than the Cerise (since NA-P IME use mega-bright lights)

Thank you! Sadly I'm in Australia and hardly seen anyone with this bag, let alone second hands. not sure if the glossed version is available at the local boutique, it's gorgeous, although does seem a bit big for my frame. can't wait to check them out now! :smile:

I've been wearing my N BTH Beige Bold the entire week. Yesterday with a blue-green tweed suit. I think you may find the new(er) BTH less chunky than the (old) New Bamboo Top-handle and more suitable for your frame.

Please let us know how you get on :tender:

I love bamboo handles and the one I don't have is the iconic BTH version. I just may remedy that shortly! The dimensions don't look like the have changed much so interested that @papertiger says the older ones are chunkier.
