Group buying and flash deal sites - DANGER DANGER DANGER!!!!!

I just got back from Prada boutique and came home with the bag. I see the difference!! And it's a huge difference! Thank god for all you helpful ladies! I'll keep an update on the refund process

Congrats and happy that you were able to find the same style at the Prada store. Now that you've an authentic one, you know how to tell a fake.

Glad that you posted the photos here. I don't believe that it is Groupon's intention to sell fakes but they just have no experts to examine the goods. They could be sourcing from a distributor who got it from somewhere else at a screaming price.

Oh, if it were only that easy. One authentic Prada doth not an authentication expert make.

No I'm not an expert at telling fake or authentic. I am just saying I could see the difference from the fake one and authentic one I've purchased. That being said, I am never ever purchasing designer products from these flash deal sites ever again.

Enjoy your new authentic Prada!

Good for you. A lesson learned the hard way, but that's usually how the best lessons are learned. ;)

Neimans/saks/bergdorfs/bloomies/nordstroms are authorized dealers (meaning prada has given them the right to sell and their bags are supplied directly from Prada)-all salespeople who work in the prada department in those stores should be brand specialists. I'd say it's HIGHLY unlikely you got a fake from one of these stores.

I just read this and I beg to differ SALES ASSOCIATES ARE NOT BAG EXPERTS. I used to work for one of the department stores listed above. Fakes were returned ALL THE TIME. I have a story for you.

I worked in a different department but spent a lot of time in handbags as its my passion but the pay upstairs was better lol. I saw a girl returning a bag that was on my wish list so naturally I go to check it out and it was fake. Not a good fake either and the buyer had gotten away with it. So I told the other SA it was fake and that she should show the manager and she said "you just want it for yourself" and left it at the counter. I told the manager and she agreed and left it in her office and back upstairs I went. It got slow so I went to go check in with a friend, and there the SA was selling it to a customer, she had gotten it out of the office and was trying to sell it. I ran to a manager and she intervened and the other SA said "you just want my sale". Be careful and always get a second opinion!

Also MIU MIU PRADA GUCCI SAINT LAURENT GIVENCHY D&G ARE NOT LEASES. They just have special displays and a few "brand ambassadors"

Hmm. That directly contradicts something I was told by an SA in the Prada section of bloomies flagship about a year and a half ago. (She told me that Prada did not participate in the 10% off or whatever the day you open a card due to its leased status) Which department store did this happen in and what year was it? I have a hard time believing that its different, currently, in other department stores so I'd be curious to know more about your experience.

Now if this is not the exact same bag (with some photos -read EVIDENCE - removed from the listing), then I'll eat my hat!!

VERY NASTY FAKE. SOMEONE ELSE WHO GOT SCAMMED AND SHOULD BE RETURNING THIS ITEM TO WHEREVER THEY GOT IT, AND DEMANDING A FULL REFUND, BECAUSE IT IS ILLEGAL TO SELL FAKES IN AUSTRALIA.

OH....do we like the "authenticity certificate"?????? :rtr:

Just a heads up, Rue La La has a bunch of Prada bags, shoes, and sunglasses on their site right now. There was discussion earlier in this thread about their authenticity. Just curious if any of you would give some insight on these items.

Just bumpin'. I think this thread needs to be highly visible.

As for Rue La La - I have not yet caught them selling fakes, BUT I would really love to see what it is they are selling. I'm not a member, nor do I intend joining, but if anyone can snaffle some photos of their bags I'd be grateful. Then we could make, perhaps, an educated guess about their authenticity.

Working on it. ;)
