I would also try exchanging the bag. As you definetely want another bag, I am sure that LV will understand and even if it is a little late, given that you haven't use it exchange it.
 
Since the mono speedy is such a staple item, I would try to return it. They are usually only picky about the time frame when the item is LE or seasonal. Perm. collection items they are usually more flexible. I would try for sure, keep us posted!
 
As long has it has not been carried or used at all and there are no marks or color change to the leather LV may allow an exchange. Take the receipt and tell them the truth, that someone bought it for you overseas and you preferred the Azur line ove the mono line and you would like to do an even exchange. Do this ASAP though, for the longer you wait the less likely they are to do this for you. Good Luck, and let us know the outcome!
