Your attempt is better than the Hermes ad! Your Ghillies is simply stunning, and the thinner tom strap doesn't compete with it.
Thanks everyone! The amazone strap is from my rouge casaque evelyne TPM. I got the evelyne before my kelly, so I was pleasantly surprised that the red/blue strap matches. I think it creates a causal look and is more comfortable since it is wider. But I'm short so the bag sits rather low on my hip when I wear it cross body with the amazone strap.

Yay! I'm going to be home next week. Got lucky and and scored a raisin K and I have both rose tyrien and bambou evelynes PM so will use the straps
It's not all good news though. I got pick pocketed and lost quite some money and all of my cards
Does anyone know the size of this beauty?
Just checked with my SA. It's a 32 sellier in box leather!

Hi all Kelly lovers out there, I hope you guys can give me some advice of what you think of my situation.
I have always dreamed of owning a Kelly hand bag. It was only a dream until recently I have expressed an interest to Hermes and had the opportunity to discuss with my SA about the leather and color options so I think I may be offered one down the road soon. But here's the problem.
A little bit about myself. I am an average woman with regular income, a husband and a baby. So by no means I'm rich with endless funds to sport my obsession in handbags. I own a few pieces of luxury items but this will be my most expansive purchase yet and probably the only purchase from Hermes in my lifetime. I have the money saved up to pay for it, but;
If I purchase the bag, my worries are;
- I feel that I could spend the money on something else. This may not be a wise purchase decision. I worry that what if I needed the money later and won't be able to cash it fast enough. Or I will have to be forced to sell to consignment shop for pennies.
- We live a comfortable life but We have a mortgage and a baby to feed and although I still have some savings for a raining day, this will decrease my total savings for sure.
- I will wear my bag but I probably won't be able to enjoy the bag everyday or as often as I would like to as it's so darn expansive.
If I don't purchase the bag, my worries are:
- someone will kill for this kind of opportunity. And if I decline the offer I will never be able to buy it again, at least not at the current price due to price increases each year.
- I may regret and kick myself a few years down the road for not taking up the offer.
- I do see it as an investment and pass it down to my daughter one day. So this will be something nice for her to have.
Overall, I want the bag, but I feel that I am too chicken to fork out so much money on a handbag. Most of all, I feel that I may regret it later, of either decision. It felt the same when I purchased my Chanel flap (proven to be the right purchase) four years ago but this time I felt more heavier because back then I don't have a family to feed. As a mom and a wife, I need to make a responsible and informed decision. So what your thoughts. Please share with me your experiences of ownership. Thank you so much for your time.

lama, if this "has always been a dream" and you are given the opportunity to obtain and have the funds already saved up, I say GO FOR IT! It is an investment bag, meaning you will have it forever, it will always be stunning (regardless of what fads come and go), and you will always feel a little special when you carry it! And once you own the BEST, all the rest of the $300, $500, or $2,000 bags will hold no appeal! so over time, you may end up saving money!
I'm so sorry for your misfortune- we can never be too vigilant, sad to say.
