Consider the number of years NBC looked the other way and ignored Matt Lauer's behavior and locking women in his office. These news/entertainment shows are full of hypocrisy.
Matt I'm sure made a Lot more money than this guy before he got caught....so financially, he's probably set for life. this guy made good money but not at that level and not for that many years. Hope he has steep alimony payments

Thing is, Matt "got caught" a long time before he received any punishment. It was common knowledge at NBC but everybody covered for him for years. Like Harvey Weinstein. Then, when the behavior becomes public all the enablers and insiders pretend to be oh-so-astonished-and-shocked! Bunch of lying scumbags.

Matt was abusing/harassing though, this is a consensual case it appears.
They do deserve to be relieved imo as they’ve clearly caused discomfort and a negative distraction. But no accusations of assault/harassment right?
I agree; he is a cheater but even a serial cheater is not the same as Matt. It will be interesting to see what more comes to light. Geesh, they apparently did not watch The Morning Show on Apple TV.

I think at first (when he was starting out) Matt had consensual affairs like TJ. As his popularity and power increased, so did his ego! That’s when it got dangerous. He thought he could get away with anything and he did get away with it for several years.

NBC is the kind of network that would be the first to relish going after a politician or business executive who was doing exactly what they allowed their highest paid anchor to do right under their noses. I have no respect for hypocrites.

times changed....Me too happened

The network is making a complete mess of this. Even they have acknowledged that these two did not violate company policy, yet they were taken off the air with no reason offered. I have no doubt that the workplace has been abuzz with gossip about this for weeks now, and increasingly in the last week or so. I am sure that this situation has been very disruptive in the office, but this type of thing happens often in offices (at least disruptive behavior, not necessarily extramarital affairs). Read somewhere that the ratings shot up last week, no doubt from people who wanted to see what might happen.

It doesn’t seem like this will die out quickly and the network can’t just keep them off the air indefinitely. Might be better and less costly to negotiate a buy out of their contracts (which I assume they have, though that could be wrong) and cut them loose.

I feel sorry for all of the kids involved - having to see this play out in slow motion and be splashed on tabloid headlines everywhere you look. (At least in NYC)

Don’t know that he will have any alimony payments - his wife works and sounds like she has worked through their marriage. He will owe child support for their daughter - think she is in the neighborhood of 10 to 12. That is still a lot of tuition and any activities that their daughter may want to participate in - fees, private lessons, coaching, etc. I would hope he would be a decent enough person to expect and be generous about that sort of thing so they don’t have to go through a nasty public divorce. No need to splatter more of their personal business all over.
