Credit cards and billing addresses maybe?
Surely there will be people having cards from different countries and different billing addresses but people tend to use a particular card as an habit?

From my past experience, they would search my name in the system first and if they had two same names in the system, they would use home address to find out which one is mine.
I think most people have the same billing address as their home address in the system. Therefore, they could connet your shopping history in your home store with the world. Brilliant, @KH8
In terms of a database or a system, it is very easy to keep track of a person's purchases around the world. I think why Hermes is not doing it is because of implications regarding privacy, country laws, etc. They are trying to avoid lawsuits that would arise from keeping your credit cards. personal info, etc, in file and connected across the world.
I once got a giftcard out of the blue from LV for a settlement for a lawsuit that had something to do with them keeping credit card infos. I was in no way involved in that lawsuit but I guess it was a blanket lawsuit that they settled everyone who had purchases from a particular timeframe.

Hermes don't store your credit card details and they can't, at least not in Europe. It's against the law and it's also preventing frauds.
hahaa they even didn't understand that I am the same person who moved in my homestore... So I have a history with my former adress and another with my new adress... But at least they managed to print the correct adress onto the invoice though they wrote the old adress onto the request for repair at the same time....So I HIGHLY doubt that they will manage it ever

I had an experience with Chanel one time too! I sent my watch to spa in HK and a month later I got an invitation to their high jewellery and watch event in London. I still couldn't figure out how they managed to reach me as my london account has my local address and local number and I have never purchased any high jewellery nor watch in London and I only gave HK store my name and number for pick up.
It was a GREAT event though! Haha

Agreed. I give my AMEX number every time I buy from my boutiques (via phone). They used to store my CC info in a vault but protocol changed in recent years requiring I give the number for every purchase. They shred the info after completing transaction.

My Paris SA told me yesterday that the systems in Europe still aren’t connected (for SAs). Ergo, she cannot see my purchase history outside of France. However, H corporate does/can see international purchases, and they will “soon” be updating their systems so the SAs can see your international purchase history. No telling what “soon” means though.
And FYI, there are plenty of guys on TPF.
There is a post in the Paris thread that says the computer systems are now linked and FSH can see US purchase history. Has anyone heard this? Does anyone have more info? And, if it is true, does that mean US can see FSH?
