Thanks for the advice!

I am thinking about going to my local Hermes store in South Coast Plaza in L.A. to see what their stock is like. I want to try the boots on first to see which size fits best if possible.

In general, for those of you who own the Hermes riding boots, do you find that they are hard to pull on and off? I use to ride when I was younger and I had a pair of boots that looked just like the Hermes ones. I had the hardest time getting them on and off even though I had supper skinny legs. I even had a whole munch of "equipment" used for getting them on and off! I don't want to have to go through this every time I want to wear these! :D

hellokatiegirl - The KellyJumping boots are much softer than riding boots and the leather and sole are thinner. I see them as shoes with bootlegs. The bootlegs are wider than on my riding boots - I have very thin calves - and I need neither boot hooks to pull them on (there are no hook holders inside the boots like in riding boots) nor a bootjack to get them off, as I have to with my riding boots.

Hi, I have a question about the Kelly-jumping boots: does anyone know if it's possible to change the hardware of the turnlock to be in gold toned metal? I have understood they always come in palladium. I know H doesn't change the color of HW on e.g. Birkins, as the feet cannot be changed I think, but maybe they would do it for the boots?

I love the boots but silver-tones just don't suit me or my wardrobe.. :wondering

TIA

I just started contemplating purchasing the Hermes Jumping boots in black. All of your pictures are gorgeous! They are tempting me into taking the leap into purchasing them! I am also contemplating a pair of Louboutin riding boots and trying to decide between the two.

Unfortunately they are sold out on Hermes' website in my size in the jumping boots. I am wondering if they will restock, or if they will be sold out for the winter season. Does anyone know how difficult they are to locate in stores?

call the boutique nearest you, they can have it sent from another store which they did for me!

Yes, I also needed a bootjack and hooks to get my riding boots on and off. This brings back such fond memories! I am happy to hear that the Hermes riding boots are so easy to get on and off. I have very thin calves which is one of many reasons I am considering buying these. My legs look like they are swimming in most boots, so I think these will fit well.

Prettychic...thanks for the advice about calling different stores. I think I will give that I try and see what happens!

Finally!! I get to post action pictures of my rouge H boots here. The weather suddenly turned cold, so I took the opportunity to wear my boots out shopping, braving the crowds on Black Friday. They definitely need breaking in, just like my old riding boots; so far, I can only wear them with tights, but hopefully with a few more wears, they will stretch a bit.

They look so beautiful! Love them. I am curious-I wear a size 8 US. (38.5 in Louboutin). Would you tend to go up a half with these- to 8.5? Or down half to 7.5 if you had to guess? I have a skinny calf-but not sure if they tend to run short. Thanks! HJ

I went to Hermes today to try the riding boots on. They did not have my size so I didn't get a chance to see how they run. The sales associate said they run small. I am not sure if other people have found the same thing or not. The Hermes near me is apparently getting a shipment in soon and I hope they have my size!

My boots actually are a bit narrow for my feet, although I'm sure with wear, they will stretch and conform to my feet. I think I could have gotten away with going 1/2 size larger, which would have made them easier to get on over my calves, but I think they might have been too tall then. So it's hard to say across the board, whether they run larger or smaller. Some members have had to size down, others have had to go up. I would either try them on before purchasing, or if you have to buy over the phone/online, make sure you know the return policy!

^^goodness, what a collection! Do you like wearing your riding boots? I tried a pair on a month ago, was so disappointed because I felt "stiff", with my heels that weren't maintained in the boots, I decided they weren't for me, though I love the look...
They really are "riding boots" for sure. Gorgeous!

Thank you flower71 :hugs:

The black Kelly riding boots are very stiff! I feel like I have a cast on my leg...lol They are definitely going to take some breaking in before I wear them out.

My heels were slipping a bit in these boots as well. Since they are a bit large on me, I add an extra insole and wear thick socks with them. That seems to have solved the problem :smile1:

Ranag thank you for sharing your fabulous boot collection with us. I did exactly
what you did with my Kelly riding boots. The insole and socks worked like a charm!
