^ Wow, I'd love to see a collection of all your watches !

I have a 33 mm Technomarine (Moon Sun - the ceramic) and I thought it was perfect for the longest time, but the large watch look is really, really cute !

Ayla - have you looked at the Rolex Milgauss? It's a chunkier watch without being overwhelming. The Airking is only 34mm so that's hardly bigger than yours... You might also look at the Breitling Cockpit or Superocean Heritage. The Cockpit is like my teal one but without the subdials.

Can you tell I'm a watch nut?:woohoo:

I am partial to Panerai (have a 177 and a 297) and I think the Radiomir's look HOT on women. In general, there is no such thing anymore as a MEN'S watch. Ladies can pull it all off well.

As for Rolex, while I TOTALLY want a Deep Sea Dweller (43mm of sweetness) I can't say the rest of their stuff moves me. They make 1.2 - 1.5 million watches a year. That takes a bit of the "soul" out of it for me. Just my 2 pennies.

Panerai made appx. 58,500 watches WORLD WIDE in 2008. A little more TLC and "soul", IMO. I am super happy to hear you are getting a PAM!! ENJOY!!

I suggest a 44mm as the 40's are difficult to sell if you ever decide to part with it, trade up, etc...

my DH just got the Deep Sea - it looks fantastic on him but sadly, too big (thick) for me to "borrow"...:p

have you tried it on? does it work well on your wrist??

Here's a pic of DH's Yachtmaster ... on MY wrist!

It's a platinum bezel so really heavy for me, but I'm getting used to it...heehee.

Great Thread idea Chaz!! I love gents watches on ladies!! Yours and Mooks are droolworthy!!!

I am on the waitlist with 2 Authorised dealers for the ss daytona - 1 mentioned a 5 year wait and the other a 2/3 year wait - faint!!

So I am going to get a Panerai while I wait, I have my eye on poss a 44mm or 40mm, I love Pam's because I can change the straps and collect them to mix it up a bit.

Thanks hun!! Can't wait for you to get a Panerai, lovely watches, sold an awful lot of them when I was in the trade,I love the size of them on girls!! One would look awesome on you!!!

The list for the Daytonas is normal, unless you go for a pre-owned one that has full Rolex service history. You can get brand new ones fron re-sellers,but its the same gig as with Birkins, you can wind up paying a good couple of grand over RRP.

The 111 is a manual wind and has no date window. My 177 is essentially the 111 but in titanium rather than steel, and I love it, but it does need to be wound every 40 hours or so...

Just keep that in mind, as you may prefer an automatic that can be set on a winder or simply worn to keep it's wind.

I am a bit of an expert on Panerai, so if you have questions, feel free to ask! I spent 2 years researching and learning about them, and continue to do so...

I love the 88 (my 297 is an 88 on a bracelet) and the GMT function along with the unique hands on this model, give it a great look!

You may also want to consider the 90, which is the power reserve. That shows how much "energy" is left in the wind. Cool stuff.

PAM's are addicitive. Fair warning ;) The real issue is getting the one you want, WHEN you want it, as they are so limited in production. Keep us posted on which one you go for!

Thanks Wired, I like the idea of the 88, instead of the 111, I dont really want to have to manual wind the watch, auto would be better. I will look into the 90 as well and let you know which one I go for. The exposed back of the watch is a beauty to see, the detailing these watches have are stunning.

Thanks Chaz, your right, I could go grey and spend around £1.5k over list for it, but even though it would be like feb 09, I am just a bit nervous of buying grey just in case! Will see what happens with the list.

^^^^^ Even if you go gray,a watch can always, always be sorted out. There are some re-sellers in London who are reputable and any problems are sorted in the same way that buying from anywhere are.Its just you pay for the privilege of 'jumping the queue'!!!

Last time I looked at figures for going to a re-seller,it was running approx 2.5,to 3 k over list!! Eeek!

chaz - thanks! i love the color scheme of platinum too.. understated but actually quite flashy!

and ITA with everyone, the Sea Dweller is such a beautiful classic!
