Getting your bag hotstamped so people would know that it's real by looking at it

I don’t like to heat stamp my items unless it’s a luggage tag, and at the end of the day I don’t care if people think My bags are real or fake, although people know me know that I will never carry a fake

Anybody can get a machine that hotstamps things. They sell them on Amazon, Etsy, etc. So someone can buy one and hotstamp whatever they want.

A hotstamp doesn't prove anything.

I was thinking of having my bags heat stamped just to make them look a bit different from the next. But I am still hesitating because if I do that, my daughter won't be able to borrow any of them anymore.

I would love to borrow one of my mom’s bags even if it had her initials stamped. Initials are so personal and it makes a nice keepsake. I’d asked I could explain it is/was my mom’s handbag that was loaned/passed on to me. A hot stamp of someone I love wouldn’t deter me at all. A random hot stamp would.

I wouldn't count on it. What prevents theft is a high degree of situational awareness and taking effort with your security in your behavior, including in your home.

It is just a bag. I don't care if people think my bag is fake or real as long as I love it. Also, I don't care if other people are fake or real as long as they are not rude in front of me.

I definitely don't like my initials on any items except luggage in order to identify it as mine in the airport.

I would think so. I had my agenda hotstamped and had to take everything out.

I actually recently saw a pretty obviously fake Neverfull (very thick handles, with poor stitching/glazing — which I guess is not always indicative of a fake unfortunately, but going by the handles this one definitely was!) and it was hot stamped. I never thought about it before but I guess either people are now producing fakes that are customisable or people are doing it to their fakes themselves.

I have a few "keeper" items hot stamped. It doesn't have anything to do with authenticity in my eyes..but the resell value plummets (if you are ever considering)
