Getting your bag hotstamped so people would know that it's real by looking at it

Personally, I don't really care if someone can't tell if my bag is real or fake; I know that I'm carrying the real thing, and I don't need a hot stamp to prove it ;)

I've never had any of my items hot stamped, and I don't anticipate on having it done... but I have seen a lot of lovely hot stamps around the forum, and I think it does add a nice little personal touch.

Exactly my point of view, I don't need to prove to others my bags are real, I didn't buy them to show off in the first place so if people think they're fake, eh :shrugs: I'm hoping to get a Keepall sometime soon and I plan on getting the tag stamped, only because then it feels like a real luggage piece to me :D
I also think I'd get my Agenda stamped too, but as of now none of my LV items are heatstamped.

Ohhh a Keepall :graucho: (jealous) I want one except I think I will have to use that as a carry on and not check it in... I like to check in my luggage. I have a small agenda but its a limited edition so I did not get it heat stamped... maybe i should... congrats on your future keepall....

^Thanks :D, I have one on it's way to me (should've arrived yesterday but silly mailman didn't bring it), I plan on using it as a carry-on, no way could I bear to check it! As soon as I have, a trip to LV to heatstamp will be in order :graucho: Now I just have to decide on Jen or J.S....

I will always hotstamp my bags if it is possible. I've got double initials on my Speedy (one on my handle and the other one on my luggage tag) and I always get compliments about it. It makes your bag really yours and I love the fact that I can't sell it because of my initials, well I could replace the handles. But I bought my Speedy with the thought; I will keep it forever. And I think I'll do that with all the bags that I will buy in the future.

But a little bit more ontopic; I think most of the people still think; well it's a LV, so it's probably fake. But that doesn't really bother me, I know it's real so other people can think what they want. :)

I have the opposite problem. My initials are LN...and I don't have a middle name, so it's just LN. I was at LV with my mom last spring and we both got wallets and had them heatstamped. She made the comment that my initials LN stamped into the wallet made it look fake..you know how you see the fake Coach bags where the C is actually a G..or the fake LVs where they change a letter or connect them so that it isn't actually an LV, but like an LU or something? LOL
So, now I"m afraid that it will look like I'm carrying a fake bag where the V was turned into an N (And V and N are so similar, too!) LOL
I still get my slg's heatstamped, but it keeps me from getting a mon-mono..

Are you married? If you are, Maybe u could add your husband's name on it. My initial is 2 like yours but I prefer having 3 alphabets so I add my husband's initial. just a thought

I have my Azur Speedy hotstamped (this past summer at Saks in Orlando) and wanted to get my Ebene Speedy done too, but when I asked the Nashville SAs about it, I was told they do not hotstamp bags anymore. :(

I totally agree with all your points! When I buy LV it's almost always after a long decision period, so I'm usually always pretty sure I'll want to keep it forever. I have everything heatstamped that I can! I mainly do it so it looks a little different than all the other LVs, because around here, I've only seen mine & my good friend's with stamps. I also like to think of it as a theft deterrant, since whoever would steal it would be walking around with a huge ND on their stuff! (Although it didn't stop someone from stealing my iPod with my full name engraved on it...!)

I've actually had people ask me if it's fake because I have my initials on it, which is when I kindly explain that it's a service offered by LV.

My claim to heatstamping weirdness is that once I get married and probably change my last initial, it won't match anymore! But I've decided that then I'll tell people they're my vintage LVs haha! :roflmfao:

I totally agree.

LOL...I thought the same thing about my last initial and what I would do once I get married, but I have gotten Alma key tag, my wallet, and my Keepall luggage tag heatstamped anyway...no regrets.

My initials are 'M.H' and I don't know if I'd want them heat stamped... My name's Maya so I was thinking 'MYA' but it looks weird.. Was thinking 'DRM' (profession + name) but it's too corny and I don't want the entire world knowing what I do. So yeah.. Until I think of something worthwhile to heatstamp, I won't. I like the idea though. If people intend to sell their bags after a bit though, they shouldn't heat-stamp 'em.

I don;t have any heatstamped items. I only have 2 initials. I for my husbands wallet heat stamped. I'm pretty fickle and could see myself seeing every LV bag for the right price. I like to keep my options open. I really don't think anyone questions the authenticity of my bags and I really don't care if they do.

I <3 my hot stamped LV. It took about a hour in the Paris department store. Afterwards I was regretting it a bit because it lowers the resell value if I would ever want to resell it in the future. But I got over it because there is no way I would sell this baby :smile1:
My first but hopefully not my last!

I am no judge on hot stamping but I think it turned out ok. I have only seen one other person with hot stamping since I have been back.
