Getting your bag hotstamped so people would know that it's real by looking at it

I like the idea of hotstamping when it does look nice on the bag (not too "in-your-face"), but more for personalisation than to reinforce its authenticity :smile1: Seriously I don't worry very much how others perceive it...I always think those who are in the know will be able to tell a real one from a fake, anyway. More importantly, I know I'm enjoying a real Vuitton and that makes me happy.

I haven't stamped any of my items...the only one I maybe would is my planner or zippy org, but both of those are daily items that go pretty much everywhere with me so it would make more sense. I guess I just don't care if someone thinks they are fake...I wouldn't be surprised if quite a few do since I pretty much live in yoga pants and pony tails. I get my bags for me and me alone. If you love your bags (and I'm sure you do) that's what should matter!

ETA--ugh, I hope that didn't sound preachy...

I would love to get my bags hot stamped tone-on-tone for ebene, but when I asked the SA she told me they would only stamp SLGs, so she went ahead & had my agenda & Sarah wallet stamped.

I was thinking of getting my speedy stamped but my initials are OV and I'm not married yet. I'm a firm believer in changing last name to husbands last name so what am I gonna do with the bag then?!? So I'm waiting for now and not stamping

Instead of charms I get luggage tags and all of them are heatstamped with my initials... It's classy and yes, no one can question my bags' authenticity, not that I care if anyone would...

That's exactly what I said... I dont care if anyone questions my bags' authenticity. I buy them for me and me only. But I have my luggage tags heatstamped because I want to, not to prove that my bags are authentic...

YES! I do the same! My Speedy 40 has a luggage tag with my initials! My Damier Ebene GM has my initials hot stamped on the lapel! My passport cover even has my initials hot stamped on the inside! And I have three gifts under the tree which I know are new bags and if they can get hot stamped they will!!
Same here. I have a Speedy 40 with a luggage tag with my initials on it instead of the bag

I don't know how to distinguish real from fakes which is why I buy them from an LV store. The hot stamping or Mon monogram isn't for everyone but it does add a personal touch to your LV piece. Whether you share the same initial as the person you will bequeath your bag to shouldn't matter as it is the history of a well-loved and appreciated bag. You not only share the bag but a history, a story and and a part of yourself.

Exactly my point of view, I don't need to prove to others my bags are real, I didn't buy them to show off in the first place so if people think they're fake, eh :shrugs: I'm hoping to get a Keepall sometime soon and I plan on getting the tag stamped, only because then it feels like a real luggage piece to me :D
I also think I'd get my Agenda stamped too, but as of now none of my LV items are heatstamped.

I just love the look of the heat stamping and had my Vernis Pomme cosmetic case and my Agenda heat stamped.
I had them done in gold and it looked great with red and gold trim. That is, until the gold started to flake off!!! My cosmetic case looks pretty sad now with half of the gold gone.
Maybe I would suggest just plain heat stamping. No color.
I started a thread about this and many posted to say that all the colors will flake. Wish I had known that before I decided to do it in gold.
