Well dear. Im allmost forty too and honestly I must say that the meaning of pink never accured me as perfect as now at any time before this. I think pink is a state of mind!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:laugh:

I think pink is fine for any age in the right shade...I'm 32 and I wouldn't necessarily rock neon pink unless I was clubbing or very casually dressed that's just me though...but I think pink is beautiful, soft and feminine for any woman (in the right shade)

I try to wear pink bags with darker clothes.

If you're wearing all pink, it's a bit much for me. I'll use the pink bag when I'm wearing a black or white outfit with pink accents.

I'm in my 20s, and I can understand your "I feel weird with a pink bag" sentiment. I feel a little weird carrying it too. I think a tasteful pink bag can be pretty and still sophisticated. I personally wouldn't carry a glittery pink or pink Hello Kitty bag. I love pink-- my phone case is pink. My laptop is pink. My ipad case is pink. I'm a little obsessed with pink, but-- like you-- I tend to use pink on "smaller" or less noticeable items like a phone.

I would go for the pink bag and just tone down the color of your clothes and other accessories. A pastel pink bag can be pretty. I want a pink Coach!

Aw! You guys are such enablers! *Hugs* I do love a pink bag but I get so drawn to tan or cognac handbags. You've all been so helpful! But I saw this lady at the mall yesterday wearing this casual tan tote, and I'm in love! Saw the tote on Macys online sale and went ahead to buy it. 😍

I'm a HUGE FAN of pink bags! I have two bright pink ones that you can see coming a mile away and I LOVE them! I also LOVE purple and red bags! I wear a lot of black and gray (white in the summer) with jeans so they all add a fabulous pop of color. Now this was a progression. When I first joined tPF I loved black bags and that was all I owned. I still love black bags along with gray and white bags, but there is something about a bright colored bag that looks so pretty to me. I'm keeping my eye out for a fabulous orange bag. :D

Never let age define you. If you love carrying it, by all means carry it. I'm close to 40 and rock some pretty crazy stuff. Do what makes you happy. Life is too short to live to meet others ideals of what you should be. ;)

I bought a cute pink patent tote tonight that was pretty inexpensive, but I love the shape, the handles, everything is perfect. Bought it because it's a pretty pop and I knew it looked good with my brown hair and eyes, but I had my doubts about it going with everything and not looking tacky.

This thread makes me feel a whole lot better! I'm proud of my buy now!

I'm well past 40 and I carry a Rebecca Minkoff Cupid bag in a color they call pink, but which is really more of a salmon color. As long as it goes with what I'm wearning, I see nothing wrong with it. I personally wouldn't go for a bright pink bag - just not my taste.
