Getting away with a pink bag

I love pink bags. However, I've found finding a pink shade and style that I LOVE is hard because it's not a colour everyone loves and choice is limited. imo, if you find a shade of pink you love, and a style of bag you can wear for years - buy it. Pink can make an outfit pop, or you can just wear it because you love it and ~work it. I co-ordinate my clothes and shoes, but my bag is my bag and never has to match :happydance:

I am the same way. If my bag matches, great! But I don't worry at all if it doesn't. I used to never buy bright colors because I wanted my bag to go with everything, then I suddenly just got over it and stopped caring.
Love pink bags, too and I'm 39. Fuschia is my favorite.

Something like this philosophy?

Warning

When I am an old woman I shall wear purple
With a red hat which doesn't go, and doesn't suit me.
And I shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves
And satin sandals, and say we've no money for butter.
I shall sit down on the pavement when I'm tired
And gobble up samples in shops and press alarm bells
And run my stick along the public railings
And make up for the sobriety of my youth.
I shall go out in my slippers in the rain
And pick flowers in other people's gardens
And learn to spit.

You can wear terrible shirts and grow more fat
And eat three pounds of sausages at a go
Or only bread and pickle for a week
And hoard pens and pencils and beermats and things in boxes.

But now we must have clothes that keep us dry
And pay our rent and not swear in the street
And set a good example for the children.
We must have friends to dinner and read the papers.

But maybe I ought to practice a little now?
So people who know me are not too shocked and surprised
When suddenly I am old, and start to wear purple.

Thanks for posting this! *Hugs* I defintely agree! I really "ought to practice a little now". In fact, I've a lot of purple and pinks. But I'm thinking of toning it down a bit like mixing it with subtle and neutral colors. 😊

If you want it to look more sophisticated maybe go for a pale pink? That could look super classy if you're worried about that, but you shouldn't be. More people should wear colours!

I should also take my own advice, nearly my whole wardrobe is black.

Thanks! I actually do have a pale pink. Kinda of like a blush. It's my MJ mini stam. I love it! It actually looks neutral. But I'm thinking more of a darker pink.

I've seen older ladies in pink and some look wonderful while others look like they're hanging onto their last vestiges of youth, white knuckles and all.

If worn well I think any of us at any age will look great in pink, be it clothes or bags and accessories. Just don't like seeing older women in too short and/or too tight ensembles no matter how slender they are.

I definitely agree!!!

I think a pink bag is so easy to go with almost everything.
When you wear all black, it just break the boredom.
With white, it looks heavenly.
With other colours, it sparks up your outfit.

This is so true! I guess it's also a matter of bag design. I guess I don't wanna look way over the top. But I see what you mean. Thanks for the advice. *hugs*

It's just a matter of how you carry it. There is nothing wrong with pink. We are on the same age bracket and yet I tote a pink Givenchy medium Pandora and fuschia Christian Dior medium Panarea and Proenza Schouler medium PS1. I haven 't had any problems pulling them off.:graucho:

Just don't pair it with any of Victoria's Secret "LOVE PINK" clothing ensembles and I think it would look fine. Gah I can't stand that LOVE PINK stuff. What was VS thinking? Tacky tacky tacky. JMO

You rock! I'm sooooo jealous! That's it! I'm on a hunt for a fuschia bag !!!

I'd probably go with bright red instead of pink (more of a classic, but same type of idea), but I'm always conscious of looking like a "cougar!" - ha ha!

Right on! Haha! I'm the same and I do have plenty of red bags already. Oh, I'm so fickleminded! Now, I want a mint bag and I'm getting it really bad. My heart is beating faster with mint. I just don't know how to justify with my DH how mint can look classic and elegant. I'm feeling the LV epi alma in electric mint. I haven't seen a lot of women wear this. The only thing holding me a bit is that Alma is kinda prissy to me. What's your opinion on this? It would look great and fresh with neutrals :)
