I have been on this forum for many years and these types of threads tend to escalate to drama and get shut down pretty quickly. As I said in my earlier post to this thread, I have been to the store that the OP is talking about, it is in a university town and there are sales people there that are bored university college students working part time. The customer service can at times be horrible at that store.

The OP sounds like she has a personal situation (handicapped child in a wheelchair) that keeps her from shopping often or getting around easily. Why would anyone on this forum judge that circumstance and say that she is demanding too much, when she asked for an at home pick-up of miss-ordered merchandise? If you have not walked in the original posters shoe's as to the difficulty of shopping and returning items, then why not do the rational sane thing and refrain from commenting on post office distance, return feasibility and other parts of this post that you know absolutely nothing about?

There were a few posts in this thread that were blatantly rude. If someone is saying "what do you want to the manager to do? Come to your house personally?" That can in NO way be interpreted as simply "feedback". Insults and nasty comments are a bit more than feedback.

Many of us buy handbags and come to this forum to to escape the rigor and stress of our daily lives for a few minutes. Snarky rude comments only make this place one less safe place to escape for a few minutes of supportive recreation.

And ask any long time member of this forum and they will tell you that I have been known over the years for expressing my opinion freely. :p:cool:I am NOT for censorship of any kind at all. I am for nasty judgmental people keeping their unsolicited comments to themselves however.

Just my opinion.....
You rock!

IMO when a business makes a mistake it up to THEM to correct it. They should send a call tag to her home, she needs not do anything IMHO. It's really so easy to keep people happy. . . do the right thing, earn their business.

As far as drama, delivery is everything. Remember people cannot hear your inflection or read your body language, better to always err on the side of kindness. Being honest doesn't have to = blunt and rude. Getting reminders and/or being banned for being rude on a website isn't worth it IMO.

I get what you're saying. It's quite obvious that my opinion and thoughts on this subject are different than many on this thread - and I respect that and I don't belittle anyone for having a different opinion.

I only ask for the same from those people in return.

But, I must respectfully disagree. Being blunt does not = being rude. As someone mentioned above, it's all in the delivery.

:) I agree, I want this to be a fun place to escape to. (Where people still state their honest opinions without being rude.) And I reiterate again, I never expected them to arrange a home pick up ( although that would make things a lot easier!). I simply wanted COURTESY and an APOLOGY for the inconvenience. That is all :) Thank you to those that offered supportive comments, and to those that gave an honest opinion (tactfully lol).

+1!

It's all about the delivery peeps!

No one is saying everyone has to agree and you're nasty if you have a different opinion. Not about that at all.

Just be kinder in your response. We need a little more kindness in this world.

😊

Wait, what? Where does it say that?? Musta missed that when I signed up.

The OP asked this question: "Am I way overreacting ?" When you ask a question like that in a forum with thousands of people, you gotta expect a mix of yes's and no's. If you don't care whether people think you're overreacting or not...don't ask. Plain and simple.

This is real life, ladies...it ain't all fun, joy, and agreement. Lots of opinions here...just like in the real world, not everyone has the same life experience, and not everyone will agree. No need for bunched panties...pick that wedgie out, keep calm, and scroll on.

Oh that phrase made me laugh. Thank you!

I prefer not to weigh in on the topic of this thread, just liked that turn of phrase.

I've had Coach mess up an order. They sent me a UPS label and arranged to have to box picked up, and they overnighted the replacement. I also got an apology. The store that made the mistake sent me a Starbucks card.

Maybe corporate is counting on the manager of the store that made the mistake to make the apology.

You shouldn't need to go to the post office. If they send you a label, all you have to do is put it on the box and give it to your mail carrier. You can even schedule the pick up online. I can't go to my post office because I have an aversion to the lights there, so my mail carrier takes care of everything for me. Your mail carrier should basically be a mobile post office for you.

I agree. I can schedule a pickup and the mail carrier will take it for me. I do that with USPS, so I can't comment for UPS. But, no need to leave the house.
